Customer states:
 There is a droning/vibrating noise from the right half of the vehicle (sometimes in the dash panel area, B pillar
or rear).
Workshop findings:
 The fuel/EVAP lines in the longitudinal member start to vibrate in certain operating situations and this creates
the noise.

Technical Background
Due to pressure pulsation from the high-pressure pump on engine side the underfloor line in the underbody tunnel
vibrates. This vibration causes noise that can also be heard in the vehicle interior.

Service
1. Remove the underbody cover.
2. Coat the fuel and EVAP line tunnel or fill the space around the fuel and EVAP line with closed-pore foam
(foam that doesn’t soak up water) part number 321 201 299. This means the fuel/EVAP line does not have to
be removed.

3. Reinstall the underbody cover.
