REVISION SUMMARY
Under AFFECTED VEHICLES, 2021 RDX was added and the 2020 RDX VIN range was revised.
SYMPTOM
The AWD indicator comes on with DTC C1843-62 (left rear differential fluid pressure deviation) and/or DTC C1844-62 (right
rear differential fluid pressure deviation).
POSSIBLE CAUSE
There is internal corrosion in the solenoids.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Check the rear differential fluid level, and if OK, replace both rear differential solenoid valves.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle on the lift. Refer to the service information.
2. Check the rear differential fluid, and make sure the fluid is at the same level as the filler plug hole.

If the fluid level is OK, install a new filler plug sealing washer and torque the filler plug to 35 N·m (26 lb-ft). Then, go
to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
If the fluid level is low, fill the rear differential with Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) to the proper level. Refer to
the service information. Then, go to STEP 3.

3. Clear the DTCs, and test-drive the vehicle.

If the AWD indicator comes on with DTC C1843-62 (left rear differential fluid pressure deviation) and/or DTC
C1844-62 (right rear differential fluid pressure deviation), go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
If the AWD indicator does not come on and no DTCs return, no further repairs are needed, this bulletin does not
apply.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
Replace the left and right differential solenoid valves.

1. Remove the differential solenoid covers.

2. Remove the differential solenoid valves.
NOTE: Before removing the solenoids, clean around each solenoid to prevent contamination from entering the
differential and/or the new replacement solenoid.

3. Install the new differential solenoid valves, and torque the bolt to 12 N·m (9 lb-ft).
NOTE: Lube the O-ring using Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) before installing the differential solenoid valves to the
rear differential.
4. Install the differential solenoid covers, and torque the bolts to 12 N·m (9 lb-ft).
5. Do an All DTC check, and clear DTCs from all systems.
