31. Install overlay harness from rear cap right body connector 10700 to
Push Out Window Connector 10713.

a. __Install one end of overlay harness into cavity A5 (Figure 8, Item 2)
of Rear Cap Right Body Connector 10700 (Figure 8, Item 1).

b. Run wire down right-side of bus to kickout window splice pack.

c. Install opposite end of harness into cavity A (Figure 9, Item 2) of
Splice Push Out Window Connector 10713 (Figure 9, Item 1).

32. Starting on driver-side, install push out window overlay harness from
kick out window splice pack to newly installed emergency window.

a. Install wire 126K into cavity D (Figure 7, Item 3) of connector 10421
(Figure 7, Item 1).

b. Install wire 126-GJ into cavity J (Figure 7, Item 5) of connector
10421 (Figure 7, Item 1).

33. Connect end of overlay harness to newly installed Emergency
Window harness.

34. On right-side install push-out window overlay harness from kick out
window splice pack to newly installed emergency window.

a. Install wire 126H into cavity D (Figure 9, Item 3) of connector 10713
(Figure 9, Item 1).

b. Install wire 126-GH into cavity K (Figure 9, Item 4) of connector
10713 (Figure 9, Item 1).

35. Connect end of overlay harness to newly installed Emergency Window
harness

36. Before installing wiring panels, turn on ignition switch. Open each
emergency window to make sure alarm operates properly.

37. Secure all overlay harnesses to main harnesses with tie straps.
38. Install all panels removed from bus.

NOTE: All surfaces must be considered dirty and must be cleaned
before applying markings. Recommended cleaning procedures for
specific surfaces are listed below.

39. Clean perimeter around newly installed emergency windows with
appropriate cleaner. Follow guidelines listed below:

a. Plastic and Glass: Saturate a clean cloth with a two to one mixture of
water and isopropyl alcohol and wipe the surface (cleaners such as
Windex may be used). Wipe surface dry with a clean, dry, lint free
cloth.

b. Painted Metals and Base Metals: Clean surfaces with solvent such
as E.I|. DuPont PreSol Cleaning Solvent 39195, Xylol, VM & P
Naphtha, or Lacquer Thinner. Dry surface with a lint free cloth
before solvent evaporates. Freshly painted surfaces must be dried
one week before application of cleaning solvent.

c. Interior Painted Surfaces: Paint must be dried one week before
application of markings. Clean area where markings are to be
applied with household cleaner such as 409. Rinse thoroughly and

dry.

d. Temperature Requirements: Air and application surface temperature
must be above 40°F (4°C) decals to respond properly.

Measure distance from bottom of drip rail (Figure 10, item 4) to top of
rub rail (Figure 10, Item 5).

Cut two equal strips of reflective tape using measurement obtained in
Step 40. Install each strip of reflective tape on either side of window
(Figure 10, Item 1).

Cut two equal strips of reflective tape. Each strip must match the
placement and length of strips shown in Figure 10, Items 2 and 6.

Place first strip of reflective tape above window drip rail (Figure 10, item
2).

Place second strip of reflective tape just below window rub rail (Figure
10, Item 6).

On outside surface of bus, center and install EMERGENCY EXIT label
above reflective tape (Figure 10, Item 3).

Install interior EMERGENCY EXIT label above window (Figure 11, Item
1).

Install instruction label EMERGENCY EXIT LIFT HANDLE PUSH TO
OPEN on inside of surface of window adjacent to window handle
(Figure 11, Item 2). The instructions should be installed so that anyone
inside the bus can see and read them clearly.

Repeat steps 39 through 47 for right-side of vehicle.

Remove wheel chocks.
