PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR
REPLACEMENT VIN LABELS

SUBJECT VEHICLES:
All Hino Conventional and COE trucks that may require replacement VIN
labels due to collision repair, cab replacement or cab repaint.
OVERVIEW:
Due to an increasing level of fraudulent VIN label requests for a Rebuilt,
Total Loss, Salvage and Stolen trucks, Hino Trucks has put in place a
new policy for all VIN label requests.
Hino Trucks reserves the right to deny any VIN label request for any
reason based on the information provided with the request. Should Hino
Trucks provide a VIN label for a Rebuilt, Total Loss or Salvage title
truck, all product warranties will be null and void.
All replacement VIN labels are ordered through the Hino PDC by a Hino
dealer once the following information is provided and reviewed. The
ordering Hino dealer must provide the following information prior to the
labels being ordered, and a Hino corporate employee installing them:
1. Scan a copy of both sides of the current vehicle title.
Note: If the vehicle title indicates salvage, total loss or rebuilt, a warranty
alert will be placed on the VIN and all warranties null and void, except for
Safety Recalls.
2. Scan a copy of the current vehicle registration if the vehicle is currently in
service.
3. A minimum of four (4) overall vehicle photos displaying the vehicle
damage, including photos of the current VIN labels.
4. A minimum of four (4) overall vehicle photos of the repaired vehicle if
already repaired.

5. A legible photo of the engine emissions label affixed to the top of the
valve cover.

6. A legible photo of the VIN stamped into the forward left side frame rail.

Note: For COE trucks, the VIN is stamped on the passenger
side frame rail behind the steer tire.

7. A legible photo(s) of the VIN Label and Vehicle Emissions Control
Information Label located on the Driver's side door jam.
Note: Replacement VIN labels are available for cab/chassis built up to ten
(10) years from the vehicle manufacturing date on the VIN label.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
All documentation and photos are required prior to the labels being
ordered by the PDC and subsequently sent to a Hino Technical Service
Manager for confirmation and installation.
The Hino dealer is required to email the aforementioned documentation to
service@hino.com for review and approval before the label request will
be processed.
