Constraints
Process to handle radar shortage
Vehicle will come with a sticker placed during production warning
driver that the vehicle is not currently equipped with VADA
Affected dealer and customer will be notified regarding each VIN
that will be short-shipped without the front mounted radar
A campaign will be issued along with instructions on how dealers
are to install the radar
It is anticipated that this is a 2-hour minimum job
See bulletin CB026-2021 for more details.
Affected features
The features that use the radar or radar+camera, and will not work on a
truck built without the front radar mounted are:
Forward collision warning and collision mitigation
Adaptive Cruise Control; including active braking
Traffic sign recognition
The features that are camera only, and will still work without the front
radar mounted are:
Lane departure warning
Vehicle data loggers with a web portal (some devices utilize radar
technology to detect safety events and therefore may not work)
How it will be shown to driver
Turning on ignition. Pop-up messages and audible alert
