SERVICE BULLETIN
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Mechanical Requested Dress Code
WARNINGS:
Dress properly to avoid personal injury and damage
to the vehicle.

Always wear protective clothing.
Do not wear any worm or loose-fitting
clothing. Remove jewelry before starting to
work.
In case of long hair, use hairmet
The illustration on the left shows some of correct
and incorrect clothing
Remove all sharp accessories before starting to work.
(For example: belt, clock, neck etc.)
2. Protect Seats Before Starting
Seats, trimming, upholstery, stuff and carpeting
should be protected with appropriate coverings.

3. Welding On the Chasis
a) Always disconnected batteries (starting with negative pole)
b) Disconnect connectors of electrical and electronic equipment (electronic control units,
sensors and actuators) if they are less than 2 meters away from the chasiss part to be
welded or the grounding line of welding euipment.
c) Disconnect engine and vehicle.
d) The grounding line must never be connected to vehicle components such as engines,
axles and springs. To avoid risk of damaging parts such as bearings or springs, arc
formation must not be allowed on these parts
e) Grounding line must take good contact and be placed as close as possible to part to be
welded.
f) Plastic pipes, rubber parts and parabolic springs should be well protected against
welding spatter and temperatures higher than 70C
g) Ignition key should be removed.
h) Reconnect in reversed order of disconnecting. Ensure that a good grounding line is
made between chassis, engine and cover.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
Replacement of roof hatches' wires and clips with new ones sent in the SB kit.
1. To be able to carry out service bulletin application, take the vehicle to safety area and
shut off the engine and turn off battery main switch (See Figure-1)

3. Screw off the safety cover screws by using a rechargeable screwdriver with phillips bit
no.2. Then remove "the roof hatch release handle" by turning it counterclockwise
direction. And finally dismantle the cover (see Figure-3).

4. Cut the wire of the roof hatch at the point seen in Figure-4 by a flush cutter and remove the
knob at the endpoint. Then pull and remove the wire.

5. Screw off the crosshatch handle's screws by using a rechargeable screwdriver with
phillips bit no.2, then remove the handle (see Figure-5)

6.a) Prepare the new stainless wire by mounting the new stainless clip at its endpoint with
a screwdriver tipped the bit no. 2 as seen in Figure-6a.

b) Pass the new wire with clip through the circle on the mechanism and then the hole
the plastic cover as seen in Figure-6b.

7. Pass the wire through the inside of plastic roof hatch cover (see the dashed line in Figure
7) . Hold the wire dismantled handle's gap. Then pass through the wire the small hole on
the plastic cover as seen in 3rd photo of Figure-7

8. Pass the wire across the inside of the roof hatch and reeve it into the hole at the frame of the
roof hatch (see Figure-8).

9. Get on the roof of the vehicle and take the wire going out of the frame hole and bind it to
the red handle by using the new clamp (see Figure-9)

10. Clean the hole area the wire passed through in the roof hatch frame by Henkel
Terostat 8550 cleaner (p/n TM900000HY) or if it can't be provided, use alcohol or another
cleaner.
Then seal the the hole by using sealant of Henkel terostat ms939 (p/n SM-54Y) and
sealent
gun very carrefully !
This is very important to prevent the water leakage from outside into the vehicle (see
Figure-10)

11. Finally, remount the roof hatch safety cover, the release handle, and handle to their places.
Apply all this replacement process for both roof hatches of a vehicle.
