SITUATION
A creaking noise is heard from the front end of the vehicle while cornering (predominantly left turns) under the
following conditions:
Driving In 1st or 2nd gear;
While coasting or accelerating; with anOutside ambient temperature that is below 50°F (10°C); andAfter engine warm-up, the ambient temperature of engine compartment may exceed 50°F even though the
outside temperature is still below 50°F.
Noise cannot be reproduced during straight-ahead driving.
CAUSE
Rubber of transmission mount rubs on aluminum housing.
CORRECTION
Replace the transmission mount.
PROCEDURE
Follow Repair Instruction 22 31 001 Replacing rubber mount for transmission mounting and replace
the mount.
