Obtaining Repair Enabling Codes (latest procedure)

Details:

This bulletin supersedes bulletin 65 001 07 (042)RRR as the process for obtaining
Repair Enabling Codes has changed considerably and is now much faster and easier.
It is no longer necessary to place a PMP coded part order to obtain a Repair Enabling
Code. However, any enabling codes needed for a Retrofit, such as ASC, would be
ordered through the normal coded parts ordering process.

To Obtain
Repair Enabling
Codes:

1) Access ASAP (Aftersales Assistance Portal) in DCSNet. Click on the “Parts and
Accessories” hyperlink.
2) Once in “Parts and Accessories”, find the “Sweeping Technologies” menu and click
on the “Request Repair Enabling Code”hyperlink.
3) Enter your dealer number and the 7 digit VIN of the motorcycle that needs the
enabling code(s) and click on the “Request” button.
4) After the “Request” button changes to a “To Download Area” button, click on it.
5) You will be brought to the enabling code “Download Area”.The number of available
codes will appear in the "Info Area" in the upper right side of the page. Click on the
red arrow download icon next to the enabling code upload date.

6) Open the ZIP file that contains all enabling codes that are valid for that VIN, such as
for RDC, ASC and Shift Assistant. There will be three files associated with each individual enabling code, a Security File, an FSC file and an XML file. Each enabling
code (consisting of these three files) will need to be extracted from the ZIP file using
WinZIP or Windows wizard to a USB memory stick for importation into CIP.

You no longer need to place a coded parts order for the Repair Enabling Codes and
they are available almost instantly.
