their lowest off-peak prices, which is usually at night.
When away from the home location, the Bolt EV will
charge immediately when plugged in.
To set the Home Location perform the following:
1. From the Energy Home screen, select > Energy
Settings > Location-Based Charging.
2. Select On.
3. Select > Update Home Location. Add the required
information to set the current vehicle location as
the Home Location

Fixed Cord Station
A fixed charge cord station is available for installation in
a private residence and is also available at many public
locations. Many companies sell charge stations with
similar features and status indicators. A fixed charge
cord station features the same plug on the vehicle end
as the portable charge cable and can supply enough
current to recharge the high voltage battery
in
approximately 7 hours. The station is hard-wired to the
electric grid and mounts to a wall.
The Hybrid
/EV Battery Charger Receptacle is located
behind the charging port door on the left side front
fender. The receptacle is accessed by pushing the
charge port door against its release spring. The
Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system arms when the
cord is plugged in and the vehicle is locked ONLY when
using level 1 charging.
The Hybrid

Sounds From the Vehicle When Charging
The charging system may run fans and pumps that
result in sounds from the vehicle when it is turned OFF.
Additional unexpected clicking sounds may be caused
by the electrical devices used while charging. When the
charge cord is plugged into the vehicle, the vehicle
cannot be driven.
Location Based Charging
Program the Bolt’s charge settings for when the vehicle
is at home or away. Using the GPS signal in the car, it
will be able to identify when it is home and will activate
according to the customized preset charging times.

T18 Drive Motor Battery Charger
Driver Information Center
The on-board drive motor battery charger is located
above the transmission and provides the mounting for
the Accessory Power Module. The charger can create a
maximum output of 11 kW during level 2 charging at 48
amps when running on a 60 amp circuit. The vehicle
can achieve a full charge in about 7 hours with a
hard-wired 48 amp charger vs. 10 hours using the 32
amp. level 2 portable dual mode charge cord. The level
1 portable cord set can take significantly longer and is
intended only for situations where it is not possible to
access a level 2 charge cord.
When using the portable dual mode charge cord:
• For level 1 charging, it is recommended that
owners utilize a dedicated 20-amp outlet and
ensure the charge rate limit is set to the 12-amp
rate using the energy display. Location based
charging must be activated in order to achieve 12
amp charging. The outlet must be dedicated,
heavy duty, and have a 20-amp rated capacity.
The portable charge cord will yield a range of
approximately 6 kilometers (4 miles) for every
hour of charge at that rate. If a 15-amp or
non-dedicated outlet is used, the charge rate limit
must be set to 8 amps
• For level 2 charging using the portable dual mode
charger with a dedicated 50 amp outlet. At this
level, the range yield about 40 kilometers (25
miles) per hour of charging.
• For level 2 charging using a hard-wired 240V
charge station with a dedicated outlet sized
appropriately for the charger. At 48 amps, the
range yield is 60 kilometers (37 miles) per hours of
charging.
While charging, the Accessory Power Module is
activated to maintain a low voltage battery charge and
to provide low voltage system current for accessories to
operate during charging such as modules, cooling fans,
and even the A/C system.
Configuring the Driver Information Center

The cluster layout can be changed by using the right
steering wheel controls to open and scroll through the
different displays. There are two main cluster display
configurations to choose from. The information on the
left side of the DIC generally provides battery and
range information and the right side provides driving
efficiency information. The Owner’s Manual provides
additional information about DIC configuration.

Retains the simplified Battery gauge on the left; and on
the right, shows an efficiency gauge which is a ball with
a leaf graphic. The ball will move up or down to indicate
acceleration or deceleration. The ball will also change
color from yellow to green to indicate efficiency.

Provides a confidence battery gauge on the left, which
gives real-time high and low range estimates. On the
right side is a power gauge which shows the amount of
power flowing from the battery to the drive unit and a
graphic below that shows when energy regeneration
(Regen) is occurring. In the center, an efficiency ring
around the speedometer and DIC display changes from
green to yellow to indicate driving efficiency.
Impacts Screen
This screen provides information about the 4 T’s.
Technique, Terrain, Climate and Outside Temperature.
These 4 impacts provide a lot of information to the
driver in regards to energy impacts.
Driving Efficiency
The driving scorecard rates things like driving
technique, climate control usage, terrain and outside
temperature. The range displayed in the vehicle is a
prediction based on past driving conditions (kWh of
energy used per distance traveled), current ambient
temperature, and climate control settings. It is normal
for the displayed value to adjust while the vehicle is
being driven as this number is constantly being
recalculated to provide the best estimate of electric
range. The 2022 Bolt EV and EUV provides two helpful
graphic displays in the center stack energy screen, or
“leaf screen”.
History Screen
This screen shows overall efficiency history over the
last 50 miles (80 Km) with the dotted line indicating the
average.

applies percentages across a summary of items like
Driving and Accessories, Climate Settings and Battery
Conditioning.

Electronic Drive Unit Push Button

One-pedal mode does not eliminate the need to use the
brake pedal altogether, especially in emergency
situations. Progressively stronger levels of regenerative
braking are employed in all Bolt EV and EUV driving
through a series of four driver-selectable modes as
follows:
1. Operating in D and easing off the accelerator.
2. Operating in D and using the Regen on
Demand™paddle on the back of the steering
wheel. The Regen on Demand™ steering wheel
paddle allows the driver to initiate the regeneration
process and capture kinetic energy, which slows
the vehicle and restores energy to the battery.
3. Operating in D with OPD turned ON and easing off
the accelerator.
4. Operating in D with OPD turned ON and using the
Regen on Demand™ paddle in tandem.
• Number 1 above, provides the lowest level of
regenerative braking and requires the use of the
brake pedal to bringthe vehicle to a complete stop.
• Numbers 2-4 above, are progressively stronger
one-pedal driving modes that in certain driving
situations allow a driver to stop the vehicle without
using the brake pedal.
• When in OPD mode, the rear brake lights
illuminate automatically and stay lit even after the
car comes to a complete stop.
Other Important One-Pedal Mode
Characteristics
OPD will not function if the battery is fully or near fully
charged, and/or if the battery itself is very cold. This is
normal to avoid damage to the high-voltage battery
.

Electronic Drive Unit Push Button Shifter
Overview
The electronic shifter features a push / pull button
operation. Park is a button push, Reverse is a button
pull, Neutral is a button push, Drive is a button pull.
Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new
layout of the push / pull button shifter assembly. NOTE:
There is no “L” selection with the new ’22 EV / EUV.
One-Pedal Driving (OPD) Mode
At the bottom of the push / pull button shifter is a button
that turns on One Pedal Driving mode. The use of OPD
helps the vehicle generate and capture greater
amounts of energy that is used to charge the high
voltage battery during deceleration. OPD remains
engaged over key cycles.

Car Wash Mode
When using an automatic car wash with the driver in
the vehicle, the vehicle can be placed into car wash
mode by simply pressing the “N” button. When this
happens, the rear wiper and rain sense wipers are
automatically disabled. If you need to exit the vehicle,
refer to the Owner’s Manual for a more detailed
procedure.
Electronic Park Brake (EPB)
The electronic park brake system takes place of the
manual park brake system. The EPB switch is located
towards the right bottom of the push / pull button shifter.
In the event of a loss of 12V power, the EPB cannot be
set or released. If that happens, the best option is to try
to jump start the vehicle to provide enough power to the
EBCM to allow the EPB to be released.

Regen and One-Pedal Driving with a Fully
Charged Battery
You can manually adjust the target charge level of the
high-voltage battery
in the energy screen. If you set the
max charge level downward, this will ensure there is
ample capacity in the battery to receive charging
generated by the vehicle when Regen is active.

Safety Features
The 2022 Bolt EV and EUV offers new standard and/or
optional safety features that work to provide
crash-avoidance, pedestrian crash-avoidance and
passenger protection capability.

– The EPB can be applied any time the vehicle is
stopped or in motion. The EPB is applied by
momentarily lifting up on the park brake control
switch. The red PARK brake light will illuminate on
the IPC when the brake is engaged.
– To release the EPB, turn on the vehicle, apply and
hold the brake pedal, and push down momentarily on
the park brake control switch. When the EPB
releases, the red BRAKE light will turn OFF.
Inflator Kit
The vehicles are equipped with Michelin
Seal Sealing
tires. The vehicles do not come with an inflator kit with
the exception of: Rhode Island and Canada. In Canada,
the inflator kit is a forced LPO which is shipped
separately to the dealer for dealer installation.

combination of many systems and modules. Super
Cruise is Lane Centering Control and Adaptive Cruise
Control running simultaneously.
Super Cruise integrates a number of advanced
technologies including precision map data,
high-precision GPS, a driver attention system, and a
network of camera and radar sensors.
The built-in driver attention system ensures the driver
keeps their focus on the road and conditions around the
vehicle. If the driver appears inattentive, Super Cruise
alerts the driver to take control of the vehicle.
