Purpose

This document provides the steps to replace window glass in RV entry doors that feature the snap-in
window frames.

NOTE: 16 window release tools will be required for this procedure.

NOTE: This document details replacing the glass only. The exterior frame will remain in the door.

This manual provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of the instructions,

Failure to keep the glass secure when removing the frame could cause the glass to fall forward, which
could cause personal injury or damage to the glass.

Replacement Procedure

NOTE: Although one highly-skilled person can accomplish this procedure, it is highly recommended that
two people complete the procedure for safety concerns and securing glass during removal.

Removal of Glass

1. Open entry door and securely close screen door. Have one person on each side of the entry door to
begin the removal procedure.

2. — Slide the 16 release tools into the 16 slots visible around the outside perimeter of the interior window
frame (Fig. 1). There are grooves on the bottom of the tools that fit into the ribs of the frame. The tool
opens the frame's catch feature (Fig. 2).

NOTE: Be careful when removing the interior frame and glass as the frame or glass can fall out easily.

NOTE: Insert the tabs flat along side the door (Fig. 2). If the tabs go in at an angle, they can hit the release
tabs incorrectly, preventing release and causing possible damage.

Failure to keep the glass secure when removing the frame could cause the glass to fall forward, which
could cause personal injury or damage to the glass.

3. One person supports the window glass and exterior frame from falling outward, as the second person
supports the glass from falling inward while removing the interior frame from the door (Fig. 4).

NOTE: Be careful when removing the interior frame and glass as the frame or glass can fall out easily. The
exterior frame can remain in the door as long as the seal is intact.

While one person is inside supporting the glass, the second person is outside gently pushing the glass
inward to remove the glass. Start in a corner and gently push the glass inward to break the seal from
the exterior frame. The inside person can gently grab the glass and pry inward while the second person
gently presses in from the outside working around the edges.

Responsibly discard window glass and move to the preparation procedure.
