Information:

Short- and long-term storage of new vehicles.

Vehicle storage in the time period between vehicle delivery and handover to the customer.
The following recommendations and measures are relevant for new vehicles, which are not immediately
displayed for sale following delivery, but will be stored for a short or long period of time.
The recommendations and measures are primarily aimed at maintaining vehicle quality during the storage
period.
This information (and the related standard “Warehouse vehicles” form) is designed to provide you with
a basis and guide for planning and implementing the relevant measures. Depending on the storage
duration, the measures must be
– once-off (at start of storage) and must then be carried out
– every week,
– every 3 months and
– every year.
The sales check must only be performed on warehouse vehicles if the vehicle is to be displayed for sale.

Information
The information provided below is a brief overview of the recommendations and
measures. Essentially, the details and specifications contained in the standard “Warehouse
vehicles” form are decisive here.

Information
General information:
• Store the vehicle at a temperature of between 0 and 20 °C/ 32 and 68°F if possible.
• The 12-volt vehicle electrical system battery is charged automatically via the high-voltage battery. The
Charg-o-mat and Charg-o-mat Pro must not be used on Taycan vehicles.
Once-off:

Measures to take on vehicle delivery and when putting the vehicle into storage.
 Press 'P' driving program switch, release the parking brake, and switch off electrical loads; close
windows, lids and doors.
 Deactivate charge timer.
 Store the driver's key at least 10 meter/ 33 ft away from the vehicle (outside of the reception range of
the vehicle).
 Charge high-voltage battery to half charge (50%) and if possible connect it permanently to a
high-voltage charger (such as the Porsche Mobile Charger Plus or Porsche Mobile Charger Connect) to
ensure trickle charging.
If it is not possible to charge the battery using a high-voltage charger, the state of charge of the
high-voltage battery must be checked weekly.
Information
The battery charge should be between 20% and 50% during the storage time. Use the charging profile
function to do this, for example.

Every week:

Leave transport protection on the vehicle for as long as possible (max. 1 year).
Keep tire inflation pressure at the factory-adjusted pressure during the storage period.

Measures
 Visually inspect the body for dirt (bird droppings, etc.) and deposits (leaves, etc.); clean/remove if
necessary. Do this frequently on exhibition vehicles that are already ready for sale and parked outside.
Information
Special recommendation for “hot countries” including USA.
To prevent "flat spots" on tires, the following points must be observed:

Every 3
months:

•

Keep the vehicle/tires in the shade if possible  do not expose to direct sunlight.

•

Check tire inflation pressure and correct it if necessary. The maximum permitted tire
inflation pressure of 3.5 bar must not be exceeded.

•

Mark the position of the tires and re-position by at least 90°.

Measures
 Check the tire inflation pressure and correct it if necessary.
 To avoid flat spots on tires, move the tire to a different position (offset by at least 90°).
 Free up brake discs by braking several times.
 Visually inspect the passenger compartment for leaks.
 Check the state of charge of the high-voltage battery; it should be between 20 and 50%. Recharge the
high-voltage battery if necessary.

After 1 year:

Measures
 Remove transport protection from the vehicle.
 Remove adhesive residue left by the film.
 Clean the vehicle after removing the protective film.
Recommendations

The rim protection film can also remain on the vehicle over one year.
Park vehicles without transport protection under a roof if possible.

Wash the vehicle.
Remove obvious dirt in accordance with instructions (Owner's Manual, etc.) and wash treated areas
again. Then treat with paint conserver.

Adhesive residue left by transport protection film:
•

Remove with isopropanol, then wash the vehicle.

Paintwork (reduced glossiness, visible difference between unprotected areas and areas covered with
transport protection film):
•

Treat with paint polish and wash the vehicle if necessary. Then apply paint conserver.

Corroded brake discs:
•

Free up brake discs by braking several times.
