NOTE: This document supersedes 14 TS-7.
ISSUE
DDC has received complaints on engine fan operation when A/C is turned ON in Cascadia
vehicles equipped with single-speed fans. There are settings required for proper operation and
this letter shares those parameters. This letter updates the settings for EPA07 and later engines
fan type.
REQUIRED ACTION
Using the following charts, ensure the CPC and MCM parameters are configured as listed when
confronted with a complaint of fan operation in Cascadia vehicles equipped with single-speed
fans.
NOTE: It is normal for the fan to operate at idle when the truck is stopped with the parking brake
applied and the chassis A/C system is activated. This is intended to reduce the fan cycling while
the driver is sleeping in the bunk during warm weather.
