All Thomas Built Bus vehicles manufactured in 2021 are required to be compliant to EPA Rule 40 CFR 1037.115. To document our compliance to this rule,
effective March 15, 2021 we are modifying the configurator to further identify Saf-T-Liner C2 vehicles that have AC installations completed after delivery
of the vehicle from the factory but before delivery to the customer. Dealer installed or third party installed AC Systems completed on any TBB vehicle prior
to the initial delivery of that vehicle to the customer are subject to GHG requirements and should be documented with TBB for compliance.

In Order Management, when applicable, additional prompts will require you to select the AC system that will be installed by the dealer or by a third party installer authorized by
the dealer (see pg. 2 of this announcement for example)
The available list of options were generated through the engineering review of Air Conditioning System information provided by dealers and third party installers since our initial
request in May, 2020

The added sales code represents the calculated leakage rate value for the unique configuration of the specified AC system
•
The available list of sales codes reflect documented systems that were found to be compliant to the new AC leakage requirements
If an AC system you intend to install or have installed by a third party prior to delivery of the vehicle to the customer is not in this list of options, this indicates that additional
documentation is required

Please contact the appropriate TBB product manager for details on how to submit required AC System documentation. This is a pre-requisite to the creation of new
sales codes for your selections
Thomas Built Bus has asked that any dealer who alters regulated emissions systems on Thomas Built Bus vehicles prior to delivery to the customer
provide a signed Delegated Assembly Agreement concerning the new EPA rule. The same applies to dealers who authorize third party installers to make
changes to regulated systems.
Signed Delegated Assembly Agreements are not required from:
• Dealers who do not alter and do not authorize third parties to alter regulated systems
• Dealers who certify vehicles that have emissions systems altered prior to delivery to the customer
All other dealers are asked to provide the signed Delegated Assembly Agreement.
