Please note that initial information is available to remedy over 90% of vehicles affected by Stop
Delivery AMB5. This measure is valid for vehicles that are assigned to work scope 5.
All necessary information to repair and claim work involved are available in the attached Technical
Information.
The VIN list has been updated to highlight vehicles with and without scope 5.
Vehicles may be delivered and RDR’d upon completion and clearance of the respective warranty claim
for AMB5.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW FOR DEALERS TO DELIVER TO
CUSTOMERS NEW VEHICLES IN THEIR INVENTORY AFFECTED BY

THIS NOTIFICATION UNTIL THESE VEHICLES ARE REMEDIED.
DEALERS SHOULD NOT SELL, LEASE, RENT, OR LOAN ANY NEW OR
USED VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY AFFECTED BY THIS

NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO REMEDY. DEALERS GROUNDING LEASE
RETURNS SHOULD REMEDY ALL AFFECTED GROUNDED VEHICLES.
Overview

Due to a software issue that has since been corrected, the software designed to continuously monitor
end-to-end communication between the safety-related ECUs in the vehicle can, in certain instances,
incorrectly and sporadically detect a potentially faulty communication, set an error memory entry and
trigger a shutdown of the power train, resulting in loss of motive power. To help prevent this from
occurring, high-voltage power electronics must be reprogrammed with updated software.

*Note that additional vehicles in current production may be added. These VINs will be show in the PPN
post and will be reflected in the relevant systems.

Vehicle usage

The vehicles may only be driven for loading and unloading purposes in the transport chain.
Further use is not permitted. Test drives are to be omitted.

Test instructions and remedial measures

Work Instructions are estimated to be available next week (Calendar week 26).

Subsequent procedure

Please inform all relevant dealer staff of this notice. Note that the Stop Delivery is active in PCSS and
vehicles are blocked in PVMS with code AMB5.
