Updated Gateway Coding Will Allow 12V Battery Trickle Charging Using "Charge-o-mat"
with the 12V Socket (58/14)

"Charge-o-mat" battery maintainer

Information:

Previously, the Porsche "Charge-o-Mat" battery maintainer could not be used on the Macan vehicles
due to a Gateway control unit setting which would not allow maintaining/charging from the vehicle's
12V sockets. With PIWIS Tester software above 14.600, an updated coding can be written into the
Gateway Control Unit which will now allow 12V battery maintaining/charging from the 12V outlets in
the vehicle.

Tools:

9818 - PIWIS Tester II with software version 14.600 (or higher) installed.
Battery Charger/Power Supply - Suitable for AGM Type batteries, recommended current rating of 70A
fixed voltage 13.5V to 14.5V.

Work
Procedure:

Select the 'Gateway' control unit in the control unit overview on the PIWIS Tester.
 Select the 'Automatic coding' function in the  'Codings/adaptations' menu and press •F12“ to
confirm your selection.
 The status message "Coding in progress" appears in the display. Do not interrupt the process.
The status message “Coding has been completed successfully” then appears.
Press •F12“ to end the process and return to the control unit overview.
