Issue
Improper replacement of continuous flow valves.
Symptoms:
Replacement of the continuous flow valve that does not resolve the complaint.
Examples of common complaints not resolved by continuous flow valves replacement include but are not limited to:
Misfire fault codes: 5895, 5896, 5897, 5898, 5899, 5911, 5914, 6413, 6425, 6426, 6427, 6428, 6429, 6431

Engine stalls or shuts down

Improper Continuous Flow Valve Replacement: Low Fuel Outlet Pressure
Incorrect diagnostics are leading to improper replacement of continuous flow valves. Repair notes frequently report INSITE™
electronic service tool parameter “Fuel Regulator Outlet Pressure” as being out of specification, below specification, low, erratic,
or negative.
Resolution
Do not replace continuous flow valves outside of published troubleshooting. The continuous flow valve only appears as a
solution in troubleshooting trees for fault codes related to known continuous flow valves failure modes.
Do not refer to fuel regulator outlet pressure on affected product for troubleshooting unless directed by standard published
troubleshooting. Fuel outlet pressure may appear erratic, low, and/or negative on a good running engine.
Do not reference fuel regulator outlet pressure specification. The fuel regulator outlet pressure specification does not apply to
affected product’s fuel system. The affected product does not use a low-pressure Regulator.
The affected product does not have a fuel regulator outlet pressure specification.
The affected product’s continuous flow valve has an internal electronic regulator, the fuel regulator outlet pressure will vary
significantly depending on fuel flow requirements. The continuous flow valve is a J1939 smart device that runs internal
diagnostics on fuel outlet pressure and will log a continuous flow valves related fault code if there is fuel regulator outlet
pressure issue.
