Summary
HVAC-Sleeper Heater O-Ring Coolant Leak. Peterbilt
has determined that vehicles built between 01/20/2012 and 09/04/2014 and were manufactured with a sfleeper heater may have sleefper heater o-rings that are incompatible with the extended-life coolant (ELC) used in the PAC CAR heating systems and may develop leaks. FRN215-2, E117 and E114 have been released at the same time with the goal for you to complete as many of these updates as possible in one service event. Please Note that not everry campaign applies to every chassis. Be prepared to tell a customer how much time you will need to turn their vehicle around based upon the appplicable campaigns for their chassis.

Sleeper Heater O-ring Coolant Leak

Introduction
Peterbilt has determined that vehicles built between 1/20/2012 and 9/4/2014 and were manufactured with a sleeper
heater may have sleeper heater o-rings that are incompatible with the extended-life coolant (ELC) used in the
PACCAR heating systems and may develop leaks.
FRN 215-2, E117 and E114 have been released at the same time with the goal for you to complete as many of these updates as
possible in one service event. Please NOTE that not every campaign applies to every chassis. Review DWWC/SIR for the applicable
campaigns for specific chassis. Be prepared to tell a customer how much time you will need to turn their vehicle around based upon
the applicable campaigns for their chassis
Resolution
Replace the o-rings on any vehicle entering your dealership with an open campaign listed in SIR as 215-2. See
attached procedure below.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty (excludes Extended Warranty) or for repairs completed by 05/01/2016, whichever is
greater, Peterbilt will remiburse the dealer for 1.0 hours labor for completing this procedure.
1.0 hours labor to replace the O-rings in the sleeper heater. Use quick claim 215-2

10-pack, EPDM O-Ring, black
NOTE: The bad O-rings are yellow/orange in color while the new, replacement O-rings are black. EL701001 is a 10-pack of the new,
black O-rings. Only two (2) O-rings per chassis are required for this repair.
Labor
Peterbilt will reimburse the dealer for 1.0 hours labor to replace the O-rings.
