Description:
Headlight Bracket, Grab Rail and Sump Guard
Models affected:
Bonneville Range

For more information on the Bonneville and Scrambler VIN range, see Item 1 of this Technical News.
From VIN 598277, some Bonneville, Bonneville T100 and Scrambler models have a pillion grab rail fitted. For the
removal and installation of the grab rail, refer to Grab Rail - Bonneville T100 110th Edition in chapter 16 of the
Service Manual.
From VIN 598277, some models of Bonneville have a sump guard fitted. For the removal and installation of the sump
guard, refer to Sump Guard - Steve McQueen™ Edition in chapter 16 of the Service Manual.
Headlight Bracket
From VIN 598277, some Bonneville models have a new mounting bracket for the headlight and front indicators. This
bracket is similar to the headlight bracket for Thruxton models with the addition of spacers between the headlight and its
bracket, as shown below.
The removal and installation of the headlight is as described in the Service Manual for Thruxton models noting the
addition of the spacers.

Trophy and Trophy SE
We have identified that current complete system wiring diagrams in the Trophy and Trophy SE Service Manual contain
some minor errors. The wiring diagrams have now been amended and are contained in Appendix A of this
Technical News.
Changes to the wiring diagrams are as follows:
Trophy and Trophy SE
•
Addition of right hand switch cube detail
•
Addition of heated grips and wind screen switch detail
•
Correction of wire colours on the ignition switch, engine start switch, engine stop switch, left hand switch cube and
rear light harness.

Throttle Cable Installation
Models affected:
Daytona 675 and Daytona 675R from VIN 564948 and Street Triple and
Street Triple R from VIN 560477
We have found that the opening and closing throttle cables are incorrectly identified in step 6 of the throttle cable
installation procedure detailed in the above model’s Service Manual. Correct cable identification is as follows:

The opening cable is fitted to the bottom of the cam
•
The closing cable is fitted to the top of the cam.

Description:
Secondary Air Injection Bracket Spares Kit
Models affected:
Daytona 675 all models from VIN 564948 and Street Triple all models from
VIN 560477
A new secondary air injector bracket has been introduced on the above models and is retrofittable as a kit.
The revised bracket assembly allows for the two pieces to be removed separately giving greater access to the ignition coils,
therefore allowing easier removal of the spark plugs.
When ordering replacement parts, always refer to the EPC.
Parts will no longer support the old condition item and any replacement will be the new condition.

Fitting the Parts Kit
For the correct fitment of the new secondary air injection bracket, all items in the kit must be fitted to the motorcycle.
Position the two brackets to the cam cover, insert the fixings and tighten to 9 Nm.

Item 8.
Description:
Throttle Linkage Cleaning
Models affected:
Tiger 800, Tiger 800 ABS, Tiger 800XC and Tiger 800XC ABS
Motorcycles used in off-road and severe riding conditions may require the throttle linkage to be cleaned and lubricated
more frequently. Triumph recommends the regular cleaning and lubrication of the idle speed control and throttle
linkages.
If for any reason the idle speed becomes erratic, dealers are required to check the throttle linkage is clean and lubricated
correctly prior to replacing the throttle stepper motor.
Note:
•
Regular cleaning and maintenance does not require the throttle to be disassembled.
