equivalent tool.



Rotating the plastic rivets will allow
the new molding to “grab on” to a
different contact spot.
CAUTION: The rivets are made of
soft plastic. Do not use excessive
force.



It is recommended to draw marks on
the body and plastic rivets 90° apart
to ensure the plastic rivets are rotated
the correct amount.

2. Tuck the front end of the new molding under the windshield seal (see Figure 17).
3. Snap in place the clip closest to the windshield first (see Figure 17).

4. Snap in place the hook and rearmost clip into the back door (rear hatch) hinge.


First secure the hook, and then snap the clip in place.
 The adjustable rear finisher (rear part of the molding) can slide fore/aft, making it
easier to align the hook and clips.

5. Snap in place the remaining clips.

6. Clean off (remove) all seals on both
finishers where shown in Figure 20.

7. Apply a thin coat of sealant (see PARTS
INFORMATION) all around the bolt holes
where the seals were.

8. Carefully put the finishers in place, and
then insert and torque all bolts.


Finisher bolts torque: 28.4 N•m
(2.9 k-gm, 21 ft lbs).

Apply thread locking compound (see

threads before installing them.

Cross bar bolts torque: 8.8 -10.8 N•m
(0.9 -1.1 k-gm, 78- 95.5 in lbs)



Make sure the arrows on the cross
bars point toward the front of the
vehicle (see Figure 21).



The front cross bar is marked “FR”,
the rear cross bar is marked “RR”
(see Figure 22 for example).
