SERVICE INFORMATION
Nissan North America is continuously working to improve the satisfaction of our
customers. It has been brought to our attention that a small number of customers have
reported a perceived early tire wear on the shoulders of one or more of the original
equipment tires. While such wear might typically indicate an alignment or inflation
issue, in the case of the NV200 Compact Cargo this phenomenon may instead be
normal wear related to the styling of the tire tread pattern. Any appearance of tire wear
should be judged in accordance with the information provided in the NV200 Compact
Cargo Owner’s Manual page 8-39 “Tread Wear Indicators.” Likewise, proper
alignment and inflation should be confirmed by the dealer as necessary.
The NV200 Compact Cargo is equipped with special high load index 94 tires to carry a
payload of up to 1,500 lbs. (680 kg), as indicated on the Tire Placard located in the
driver’s door area. The original equipment tire is available as a genuine Nissan
replacement part.
Customers choosing to apply an alternative replacement tire should take note of the
information provided on the Tire Placard, the NV200 Compact Cargo Owner’s manual
page 8-39 “Replacing wheels and tires,” and in the “Important Tire Safety Information”
section of the Warranty Information Booklet. Some aftermarket replacement tires may
have lower load index ratings. Use of tires with a lower load index rating results in a
reduced max payload capacity for your vehicle. Please refer to the replacement tire
manufacturer’s usage recommendations and tire pressure information for further
details.

Figure 1 is an example of a new tire that has little or no wear.



Figure 2 is an example of a good tire that has some wear, but is still above the wear
limit.

Figure 3 shows the Tread Wear Indicators (TWI) that are located in the grooves of
the tire tread. Although only three TWI are shown Figure 3 (as a guide).
