Some customers may comment on an airbag malfunction warning and airbag malfunction
indicator illuminated.
During diagnosis a technician may find DTC B0001–1B or B0012-0D set.
Cause
5704083
The cause of the condition may be rust particles in the connection terminal interface
causing excessive resistance.
Correction

In order to correct the condition, both halves of the interface (Driver Side Airbag Module
and the Steering Wheel Wiring Harness) must be replaced to restore a proper
connection.

replace the steering wheel airbag and steering wheel
harness. Refer to Steering Wheel Airbag Replacement
in SI.
