 DTC B200000 (Faulty control module) with symptom code 14848.

 DTC B200000 (Faulty control module) with symptom code 5120.

Technical Background
Before updating the power steering control module, J500 (address word 0044), review the 4 steps below:
Note:
Observe the extended ambient conditions in the control module, otherwise a software update will not fix the
concern.
1. With DTC B200000, symptom code 14848 and (Software version 409 and 410)
1.1 Check the parameter for customer fault type (Param_Kfa) in the extended ambient conditions.
1.2 The number 6 must be listed. If number 6 is shown, the update will be effective (Figure 1).

2. With DTC B200000, symptom code 14848 and (Software version 405 and 407)
2.1 (Param_Kfa) not visible with this software version.
2.2 If the DTC is no longer logged after the SVM update, the update has been successful.
2.3 If the DTC still logged after SVM update, the steering gear will have to be replaced.
3. With DTC B200000, symptom code 5120: (Software version 409 and 410).
3.1 Check the parameter for customer fault type (Param_Kfa) in the extended ambient conditions.
3.2 The number 11 must be listed. If number 11 is shown, the update will be effective.
4. With DTC B200000, symptom code 5120: (Software version 405 and 407).
4.1 (Param_Kfa) not visible with this software version.
4.2 If the DTC is no longer logged after the SVM update, the update has been successful.
4.3 If the DTC still logged after SVM update, the steering gear will have to be replaced.
