This Service Information Bulletin replaces SI B 64581353-01 dated July 2019 and SI B 46 001 17R dated
August 2017.

SITUATION
Due to statutory regulations and to avoid misuse of frames without a stamped VIN, in cases where a frame
replacement is required due to damage, plain frames are discontinued and only frames with engraved
vehicle identification number are offered.

PROCEDURE
Frames with vehicle identification number that are currently available can be found in the attached list.
The part numbers are published in EPC 4.0 and EPC 3.0.
1. Submit an Info-Only TSARA case with the following details and documents which must then be kept on
file:

A reason or need for a frame replacement (e.g. accident, warranty, etc.); attach clear images.
List the part number (11 digits) of the replacement frame.
A fully completed request form (see attachment) signed by both the customer and the dealer, must be attached as
a PDF file.

2. Order the frame via usual part ordering channels and enter the TSARA case number in the free text input
box.
The order cannot and will not be carried out without entering the TSARA case number.

3. The frame with VIN will be delivered. The installation is done by the dealer.
4. The VIN and the section of the frame it’s stamped on must be cut off and sent to BMW NA Motorrad as
proof of scrapping for archiving purposes. If the VIN is stamped on a tab, the section of the frame the tab is
attached to must be cut off, not just the tab.

5. Inform the customer of the procedures related to the above frame replacement process.

PARTS INFORMATION
Obtain and confirm the part numbers for your specific vehicle by entering the chassis number in ETK which
takes into account specific equipment and/or options.
Additional parts like gaskets, hardware and chemicals may be required for the complete repair.
