Subject: 2022 Outlander REVISED Front License Plate Bracket Installation Procedure
Purpose:
Please use the following instructions when installing a Front License Plate Bracket on 2022
Outlander. This will ensure that the Front License Plate Bracket is properly installed.
Discard the instructions included with the License Plate Bracket Kit, with the exception of
the paper template, and instead follow the following procedure. Save the paper
template, as it will be used in the following procedure.
PROCEDURE
1.

Trim off the two locking tabs from the rear of the bracket.

2. Align top of the License Plate with the top of the Bracket and center from side to
side. There should be approximately 2 0 mm overlap on each side. If using a License
Plate Frame, please align the Frame/License Plate combination to the top of the
bracket and center. Mark the center of the two upper License Plate holes onto the
Bracket.

3. Remove the license plate and drill (2) 13mm holes at the two marked spots on
the bracket.
4. Insert 2 Rubber Nuts (not provided) – u s e MU435004 Rubber Nuts (Quantity 2)
or source equivalent (same as those provided) locally.
5. After Bracket is installed onto Fascia, use Machine Screws (not provided) – use
MS350014 Machine Screw (Quantity 2) or source locally, M6x30 Machine Screws.

6. Align the provided paper template with the Grill and make a mark as indicated below:

7. Position the Bracket onto the Bumper, locate the center hole and insert provided SelfTapping Screw at the previously placed mark. Tighten partially to complete step #8.

8. Mark the center of the two holes in the Bracket – ensure Bracket is

level.

9. Remove Self-Tapping Screw and Bracket.
10. Drill a hole into the two marked locations on the Fascia, with 13mm bit 10mm

deep.
11. Reinstall the Bracket.
12. Insert the two provided Rubber Nuts into the Bracket holes.

13. Install Self-Tapping Screw (provided), two M6x30mm Machine Screws

(provided) and tighten.
14. Install the License Plate using two M6x30mm Machine Screws (not

provided) with the kit and ensure everything is properly aligned.
