Bauer

The Bauer NE is the first self-contained electronic RV latch with Capacitive Touch Technology. It is retrofit-able in
most RV entry doors and easy to install.

Using Capacitive Touch Technology

The Bauer NE is a 4 touch pad button programmable deadbolt lock (Fig. 1). The 4 buttons are labeled “1|2”,
“3|4", “5|6”, “7|8”. The button labeled “1|2” is the same selection whether the number 1 or 2 is desired for the
programmable personal code.

NOTE: The buttons are activated by touch and do not require pressing. Touch the button and lift finger
from button for proper code entry.

The following steps show how to operate the Bauer Lock:

1. Touch the area next to the buttons to wake up the lock (Fig. 1B).

2. The buttons will illuminate when the lock is ready to accept the code.

3. The factory default code is 3, 7, 1, 5 followed by the Enter button (Fig. 1C).

4. Touch and hold the "3/4" button (Fig. 1A) and Enter button (Fig. 1C) for 2 seconds. The lock will beep
3 times to accept a new code. Enter a 4-digit code followed by the Enter button (Fig. 1C). The lock will
beep 4 times to indicate the new code has been accepted.

NOTE: Enter your personal code upon installation of lock (Step 4) to prevent inadvertent programming.

NOTE: The touch pad only activates the deadbolt. The paddle lock is master keyed for dealer and service
center use. The deadbolt provides maximum security.

The Intelligent Keyless Entry System, an integral touch pad, knows the position of the deadbolt and indicates low
battery strength. The touch pad also provides audible feedback to successful locking and unlocking functions.

The key will always be able to operate the paddle or deadbolt lock in case the user forgets the code or the battery
is dead.

Maintenance: Changing the Batteries

The Bauer NE uses 4 AA batteries for operation. Zinc-carbon batteries are not recommended for this application,
nor are they included.

NOTE: Fresh batteries should be installed as necessary.

Resources Required:

- 4 AA batteries
* #0 point magnetic Phillips screwdriver

The following steps are shown on the enclosed Battery Installation diagram:

5. Using the small Phillips screwdriver, remove the (2) 4x40 screws (Fig. 2A) from the battery
compartment lid (Fig. 2D) and remove the lid.

NOTE: These screws are very small so please take care in removal and installation.

Install the AA batteries (Fig. 3B) in accordance with the orientation shown in the battery compartment
(Fig. 3C). The batteries will fit tightly.

Install battery compartment lid (Fig. 3D) by aligning the (3) tabs (Fig. 2F) on the lid with the (3) slots

(Fig. 3E) on the inside plate assembly. These tabs act as a hinge for closing the battery compartment lid.
Install the (2) 4x40 screws (Fig. 3A) back to attach the battery compartment lid to the inside plate assembly.

Battery Plug Instructions

The following image shows a detailed view of the plug and receptacle for plugging the inside plate assembly into
the receptacle on the Bauer housing.

1. Align tab (Fig. 4A) with small, square slot in receptacle (Fig. 4B).
2. With plug aligned, insert into receptacle until a click is heard.

Global Entry Door Latch for Travel Trailers

This universal latch is easy to match with the existing entry door and includes all the hardware needed for a quick
installation.

Quick Facts

Baggage Door Lock with Global Latch (Fig. 4D)
This is a direct replacement for the FIC baggage door lock with the standard plunger length.

If you have a Global Link entrance lock on your unit, we can key the baggage locks to match your entrance lock,
eliminating the need for two different keys.

If you have an FIC 43610 entrance lock, we can replace it with a Global Link lock and match it to our baggage locks.

Fastec

Fastec door latches are installed in almost all entry doors in the RV industry. They are the only manual latch used by
Lippert.

Lippert Fastec door latch comes in 3 colors:

* Black
¢ White

There are 25 different keys used for the manual door latches.

The Fastec key code is stamped into the key as a 5-character code (Fig. 6).

Standard key will have a square, black plastic coating on the key handle and will have "FIC" molded on the face.
In the event of a lost key, the code can be found on a sticker affixed to the back plate of the latch (Fig. 5A).

Remove the four mounting screws found on the inside door latch (Fig 7). Remove inside latch to reveal key code
sticker (Fig. 5A).

A master key will have the same characteristics only in red plastic. The master key will only open the door lock and
not the deadbolt (Fig. 8).

Southco

Southco, Inc. door latches are used in Lippert’s Keyless Entry Door systems. All units are towable.

All Southco units are black and the door handle is slightly curved (Fig. 10), as opposed to the straight door handle
on the Fastec.

Keypad (Fig. 9) - Key fob (Fig. 10)

The Southco key code is a 3-digit code stamped onto the key (Fig. 11). The key handle has black molded plastic on
the key handle and is rounded at the end. The Master Key bears no key code.

If the key or key fob is lost, the key code can be found on the latch plate (Fig. 12) by removing the 4 screws on the
inside latch handle (Fig. 13). Please contact the Lippert Customer Care Center for key or key fob replacement.

The keyless entry mechanism is mounted in the door accessed just below the door latch (Fig. 10).
The receiver is mounted just below the entry door window.

Cylinders

NOTE: Southco Latch may have the Fastec compatible Cylinder
installed and will utilize the Fastec key (Fig. 14).

The keypad and the key fob are all matched directly to the receiver. A small black sticker with the code number is
affixed directly to each component. On the keypad, the sticker is located under the 9 - 0 button (Fig. 15). On the

key fob, the sticker is in the middle of the backside of the fob (Fig. 16). The matching code will be located to the
receiver next to the antenna (Fig. 17).

NOTE: A draft version of operating instructions states that the default code is 1-2-3-4. This was NOT true
for early product units. The early production units came preprogrammed with a 4 digit user code.
The user code was printed on small piece of paper taped to the inside of the RV door.

Problem: Entry door latch will not actuate

1. Verify User Code:

A. Verify the battery on the wireless keypad is working: press any button on the keypad, all lights
should illuminate. If no lights illuminate the keypad battery is dead.

I. Replacing the battery: on the [9-0] side of the wireless keypad, insert a small flat screwdriver
into the small slot to pry off the cover. Remove the green electronic board. Turn it over to the
battery side, replace with a CR 2032 3V battery.

Enter the given user code, then press the [1-2] button.
If the entered user code is correct, the [9-0] button only will illuminate for a couple of seconds.
If the entered user code is incorrect, all buttons will illuminate for a couple of seconds.

Il. If the code is incorrect: The OEM taped a small piece of paper to the inside of the entry door
that contains the correct user code.

Il. If the user code is missing: Contact the Lippert Customer Care Center.
Ill. The current user code must be known in order to change the user code.
2. Verify Power Supply to the Latch:

A. Power is supplied to the latch actuator through a bridge connector at the bottom of the door on
the hinge side. When the door is open, there is no power transmitted to the latch (Fig. 14).

B. The FRAME side of the connector should have resident 12VDC power. This is the input power to
the RF controller and the POLARITY is critical. Using a multimeter set to read DC voltage: place
the RED lead on the top most contact (Fig. 15). Place the BLACK lead on the lower most contact.
Meter should read +11-12V power. A negative value means the bridge connector was installed/
wired backwards. To correct, remove screws on the connector, turn it over and reinstall.

3. ‘If the user code is verified AND power is there with the correct polarity then contact the Lippert
Customer Care Center.
