SERVICE ACTION: RECONFIGURE TERMINAL LOCATION
OF INTEGRATED MEMORY SEAT (IMS) CONNECTOR (SA467)

SUBJECT:

This bulletin provides the procedure to reconfigure the terminals location of the Integrated
Memory Seat (IMS) connector on some 2022MY Carnival (KA4) vehicles produced from
January 4, 2021 through February 26, 2021. The IMS seat position memory buttons 1 and 2
may intermittently not operate the power driver’s seat when the rear window defroster switch is
on. This may be caused by floating voltage on the IMS circuit. To correct this concern, follow
the procedure outlined in this bulletin to relocate the ground circuit to eliminate the floating
voltage.

 NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed
during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the
warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service → Warranty Coverage →
Warranty Coverage Inquiry → Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service
Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs → Not Completed Recall
→ Recall VIN → Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.

Pin Relocation Procedure:
1. Remove the front driver door trim (A) by
referring to the “Body (Interior and
Exterior → Front Door → Front Door Trim
→ Repair procedures” chapter in the
applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.

 NOTICE
Use a non-marring trim removal
tool (such as Snap-on® Part
Number PBN5 or equivalent) to
avoid damaging trim pieces.

Disconnect the joint connector (B) as
shown using an awl or small flat-blade
screwdriver.

Using an awl or similar pin remover tool
(C) (example below), remove the cover
(D) of the connector.

Cut the tape covering the wiring just
enough to expose and access the wires.

Using an awl/pin remover tool (C), detach
the connector lock (E) as shown.

Using an awl/pin remover tool (C), push in
as shown to remove the terminal (F).

Be sure to position the remover
tool as shown to avoid damaging
the terminal.

Remove the wiring pin (G) from the No. 5
position.

Connect the removed wiring pin (G) into
the No. 12 position.

9.

Reattach the connector lock (E) to hold
the re-located pin in place.

 IMPORTANT

A “click” sound will be heard
when the connector locks in
place.
If not, detach then reattach the
lock until you hear a click.

11. Reassemble the cover of the pin
connector, then reconnect the connector
into the front door.

12. Reassemble the front door trim in the
reverse order of removal.
