Description of Revisions: This bulletin replaces the version dated

7/21/2017. OWL warranty information is replaced with a reference

to warranty instructions in Detroit technical service letter 17 TS-6.
Vehicles equipped with DD13, DD15, and DD16 engines, and running 2017 motor control module (MCM)

software version 6.5.0.2, may exhibit inaccurate oil pressure readings on the dash oil pressure gauge. The

gauge may read approximately 12.2 psi (84 kPa) higher than normal, even with the ignition on and the engine

off. The gauge may also experience greater fluctuations than normal while the engine is operating.

The cause is the J1939 datalink transmitting an unfiltered oil pressure value and lacking barometric pressure

compensation.

New MCM software 6.5.0.3 with fuel map version ZGS 002 (or higher), has been released for service and will

address the issue.

After programming the MCM, the CPC, ACM, and TCM may need to be updated for compatibility to the

following software versions:

• CPC – R38_01_000A (or higher)

• ACM – 7.57.4.0 ZGS 002 (or higher)

• TCM – NAMT117700 (or higher)
