RR3I - Engine Earth Connections Check

Situation

A very small number of Rolls-Royce Cullinan (RR31) vehicles have been identified as having a potential
issue concerning the engine earth connections. It could be possible that during the engine assembly,
one of 16 earth connectors was not torqued to the required specification resulting in an inconsistent
electric connection. If one of these connectors is not tightened correctly the following problems may
occur: 1) MIL light would be activated, 2) failure to start the engine, 3) long term - oil pressure sensor
damage.

All vehicles that have been identified within this Campaign will need to have all 16 connectors checked by
undoing them and re-torqueing to the correct setting.

Dealers should check for vehicles which are subject to this Technical Campaign using ISPA (Integrated
Service Processes Application) or S-Gate/AIR.

Procedure

Carry out vehicle test and record any faults in the memory.
There are 16 torque screw connections on the engine that will need to be checked. All of these
connections need to be undone and re-torqued to IONm.

The following repair instructions on ISTA/AIR can be used to aid in gaining access to these connections.

- Remove and install right intake filter housing REP-REP-P-1371020-RR31

- Remove and install left-hand intake filter housing REP-REP-P-1371010-RR31

- Replace oil pressure sensor REP-REP-P-1261586-RR3]1 (DO NOT replace sensor, just follow repair
instruction to access torque connections)
