Mack Chassis - Diagnostic Code ( DTC ) B105254
Active And Unable To Be Cleared - Vehicles
Manufactured On Or After 1 January 2021
Certain vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 2021 may be
found to have DTC B105254 active when codes are checked via the
instrument cluster or a DTC readout is performed using Premium
Tech Tool (PTT). For a ected vehicles, B1052 will be present at the
time the vehicle is delivered from the factory.
If B105254 is found to be active on a vehicle manufactured
during the applicable date range:
At this time, no action should be taken to diagnose or repair this
code.
• This has been determined to be a software issue. The code is
not indicative of an existing problem and will not a ect vehicle
operation.
• B105254 will not illuminate the Malfunction Indcator Lamp
(MIL), and the code will only be found by reviewing codes via
the cluster or PTT.
This issue will be resolved by a software update which is currently in
development. More information will be released as it becomes
available.

Introduction
Mack Trucks has received reports of a nuisance DTC (B105254) being presented in the driver
information display (DID). The DTC cannot be cleared with Premium Tech Tool (PTT) and has no
effect on the truck’s operation or function. A software enhancement has been introduced to
correct the issue. This correction requires reprogramming the Instrument Cluster, utilizing the
latest version of PTT. Be advised, this fix will stop the DTC from illuminating the cluster lamp
but will be shown active in PTT and in the diagnostics menu within the cluster. No diagnostics
will be required. Future software release planned to correct the DTC.

Secure vehicle for service.
Connect the latest version of Premium Tech Tool (PTT) to the Vehicle.
After identification is complete, navigate to the program tab within PTT.
Select operation 1700-08-03-39 Program Electronic Control Unit.
Select the Information Display MID 140 option and reprogram the control unit.
After programming is complete, clear any inactive DTC’s left by the programming
process.
7. Return the vehicle to service.
*Be advised, this fix will stop the DTC from illuminating the cluster lamp but will
be shown active in PTT and in the diagnostics menu within the cluster. No
diagnostics will be required. Future software release planned to correct the DTC.
