The verification step during PCC system installation may have been missed during assembly, which may result in PCC

malfunctions.

263 model year 2016 and 2017 Kenworth T680 and T880 vehicles built from 04/07/2015 through 03/25/2016 equipped with

Predictive Cruise Control (PCC).

Follow the procedures below to perform the PCC GPS signal verification.

Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list.

Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis. Use the attached

procedure. Review the DWWC or SIR for “Complete” next to the “51-09” campaign code prior to performing this repair.

51-008 and 51-009 have been released at the same time with the goal for you to complete as many of these updates as

possible in one service event. Please NOTE that not every campaign applies to every chassis. Review DWWC/SIR for the

applicable campaigns for specific chassis. Be prepared to tell a customer how much time you will need to turn their vehicle

around based upon the applicable campaigns for their chassis.
Warranty

Through Standard Warranty (excludes Extended Warranty) or for repairs completed by 08/01/2017, whichever is greater,

Kenworth will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:

0.4 hours labor to download software updates and complete the GPS signal check. (Use Quick Claim Code 51-09A).

0.3 hours labor to complete the GPS signal check. (Use Quick Claim Code 51-09B).

File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances. A quick claim for standard labor must be filed first.

A check for the PCC GPS signal that is normally performed on the production line may have been missed during vehicle

assembly. These vehicles may not be receiving the full fuel economy benefits of the PCC system.

After updating the software, customers may notice an increase in fuel economy and may be able to feel the vehicle slowing as

it crests a hill.
