Or the customer states there is no air flow from any of the HVAC vents,
And
There is snow, or other debris, in and around the blower motor air inlet, behind the cowl.

ACTION
1.

Remove all snow, water, and debris from the blower motor inlet, cowl area, and where
the blower motor mounts.

2.

Clean or replace the blower motor as needed.

3.

If the blower motor does not work on all speed settings, replace the fan control
amplifier (fan resistor).

4.

If not already equipped: Install the cowl top cover and wiper pivot filters listed in
PARTS INFORMATION on the last page of this bulletin.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Install the Wiper Pivot Filters, and Replace the Cowl Top Cover (as needed)

1.

Remove all snow, water, and any debris from the HVAC intake, cowl area, and where
the blower motor mounts.


For removal of the cowl top cover and related parts, refer the Electronic Service
Manual (ESM), section BODY EXTERIOR, DOORS, ROOF & VEHICLE
SECURITY – EXTERIOR – REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION – COWL TOP.

2.

Clean or replace the blower motor as needed.

3.

If not already equipped, install a wiper pivot filter on each wiper pivot (see Figure 1).


See PARTS INFORMATION on the last page of this bulletin.

Make sure to install both wiper pivot filters. If the wiper pivot filters are not installed,
snow may enter the blower motor inlet and cause damage to the blower motor.

4.

Reassemble the vehicle using the new cowl top cover listed in the PARTS
INFORMATION.

Make sure to install the new cowl top cover listed in the PARTS INFORMATION. If
the new cowl top cover is not installed, snow may continue to enter the blower motor
inlet and cause damage to the blower motor.
