This TSB supersedes 20-01-024H-1 to update the following:
• Adding separate op code/part tables on pages 16 & 17 for 2016 Sonata model year 2.4L to
clarify engine part number to order
• Update Table of Contents on page 3 to reflect the first addition above
• Update Warranty Information Notes #3-7 on page 2 to elaborate and clarify on claim
submission.
• Update references to ‘OIL Check’ by changing to ‘OIL Measure’ in op code tables below
All service technicians should review the new service procedures referenced in the revised T3G TSB 20-01-004H-3
regarding Engine Removal and Replacement, which utilizes updated shop manual procedures to increase
efficiency, resulting in significant time savings.

whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
Please note that this TSB references the op codes to use for claim submission and the parts required
based on the vehicle’s inspection results from TSB # 20-01-004H-3.

Warranty Information Notes:
1) For 11-18MY vehicles: Submit Claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen.
2) For 19MY vehicles: Submit Claim on Warranty Claim Entry Screen. Use Q75 for Nature Code, ZZ1
for Cause Code.
3) The Campaign 953 Engine ECM update is only required if new software is available, in which case,
choose one of the following methods:
• Select a T3G OP Code with the ECM update included if available OR
• Submit a separate campaign claim for the ECM update using Campaign 953 OP Codes (in
addition to submitting applicable T3G OP Code)
4) PA Approval required for OP Codes with engine replacement.
• Note: OP Codes for engine replacement should only be used if engine replacement is deemed
necessary by the service procedure in the T3G TSB (TSB# 20-01-004H-3 or latest revision)
5) PA Approval NOT required for OP Codes without engine replacement.
6) If a part is in need of replacement and the failure is directly caused by Campaign T3G related
engine failure, or if additional labor is required while performing Campaign T3G:
o Submit one compiled separate claim using the same Repair Order number AND
o Submit with 21101NTT using the engine Causal Part number associated with the T3G OP
Code AND
o Ensure part replacement and punch times are accurate and that they match the labor
performed along with the service manager’s signature approving the TT time.
• For TT time best practices, refer to Hyundaidealer.com > Service Tab >
Documents Library > Warranty > ATT-NTT Documentation and Claim
Submission Guide
o Note: If the part replacement does not require additional labor, follow the above steps and
use the system minimum of .1 labor time with a quantity of 1.
7) If a part is found in need of replacement while performing this campaign and the affected part (failure
not directly caused by Campaign T3G) is still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same
Repair Order. If the affected part(s) are out of warranty, request a Prior Authorization # for goodwill
consideration prior to completing the Campaign.
