Summary
P200C Diagnostic Procedure Model year conventional trucks. The following diagnostic procedure should be followed for a unit with DTC P2000C. This procedure will check the integrity of the DOC and the SCR catalysts. If the P200C is set, the following diagnostics will need to be performed.

2011MY-2014MY P200C Diagnostic Procedure
SUBJECT VEHICLES:
2011 through 2014 model year conventional trucks.
Note: This technical tip is provided as technical information and is not authorization for a warrantable repair.
CONDITION:
The following diagnostic procedure should be followed for a unit with DTC P200C. This procedure will check
the integrity of the DOC and the SCR catalysts. If the P200C is set, the following diagnostics will need to be
performed.
1. Check for other DTC’s that could cause the P200C and diagnose them accordingly. If there are no
codes, remove the DPF and check the integrity. While the DPF is down, check the DOC face for debris
and melting.
Was any damage found to the DOC?
If damage is found to the
DOC, remove and inspect
the SCR filter for damage
and replace if needed.
If the DPR outlet shows any
signs of soot and the DOC is
ok; replace the DPF and
continue to Step 2.
2. Run the exhaust brake check, injector test, base engine checks and check truck history for previous
high soot levels that could cause the P200C.
Note: When sending a file to be reviewed by Tech Assist, please label the file accordingly as to what it
is. (ex. SCV, regen, quantity test). This will help us to be more efficient in getting back to you.

Were any issues for the P200C located?
Resolve the issue, proceed
to manual regen and
continue to Step 3.
Run a manual regen and send the
data to Tech Assist for evaluation.
Continue to Step 3.
3. Run and record a manual regen after resetting all flags and temperatures, send the regen data to Tech
Assist for evaluation.
Were the temperatures on manual regen ok and regen completed?
Continue to Step 4.
Drop the SCR catalyst and
inspect for plugging/debris.
4. Run and record an auto regen. Continue driving the truck and record for 10 minutes after the regen
completes, send the regen data to Tech Assist for evaluation.
Was the auto regen successful, no DTC’s set and temperatures within
the acceptable range?
Release the truck.
Drop the SCR catalyst and
inspect for plugging/debris.
Repair or replace if needed.
Note: Warranty has approved this extra regen and test drive time if documented correctly in the warranty
claim. A 10 minute test drive after a successful auto regen should be sufficient time for the ECU to judge the
DOC efficiency as well as the Nox sensor operation.
