SERVICE ACTION: “FE” EMBLEM INSTALLATION (SA230)
NOTICE
This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised
sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the left margin area.
This bulletin provides the procedure to add an “FE” (Fuel Efficient) emblem to the existing
“AWD” emblems on the front doors on specific 2017MY Sorento (UMa) vehicles, produced
from April 1, 2016 to April 15, 2016. See VIN list on page 4.
NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed
during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the
warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service> Warranty Coverage>
Warranty Coverage Inquiry> Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service
Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs> Not Completed Recall>
Recall VIN> Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.

SUBJECT:
SERVICE ACTION: “FE” EMBLEM INSTALLATION (SA230)
Inspection:
1. Inspect the front doors for the presence
of the ‘FE’ Emblem.
2. If the emblem is present, no further
action is required.
3. If the emblem is not present, proceed to
the procedure below.
Left Front Door
1. Remove and discard the “AWD” emblem
from the foam guide of the replacement
part, labeled LH.
2. Clean the door surface at the trailing
edge of the AWD emblem, using
isopropyl alcohol.
3. Carefully remove the “FE” emblem from
the foam guide.
4. Position the foam guide over the existing
“AWD” emblem as shown.
5. Remove backing from the “FE” emblem
and position emblem in opening in foam
and apply even pressure to the face of
the “FE” emblem to adhere to the body
using the foam guide.

6. Confirm proper alignment, and proceed
to the right front door.
Right Front Door
1. Remove the “FE” emblem completely
from the foam, and discard the guide, as
it will not be used.
2. Clean the door surface at the trailing
edge of the AWD emblem on the door,
using isopropyl alcohol.
3. Align using a non-marring ruler under the
“A” in the existing “AWD” emblem, as
shown.
4. Remove the backing from the “FE”
emblem and place the right side of the
emblem 8mm (or 3/8 inch) from the “A” in
AWD. Apply even pressure to the face of
the emblem to adhere to the body.
5. Confirm proper alignment.
