Information:

Due to inadequate cleaning of the rear axle differential components during the production process, there
is a possibility that production residues may have been left in the rear axle differential.
These production residues can damage the splines or the bearings in the rear axle differential over the
service life of the vehicle.

Remedial
Action:

Replace rear axle differential.
Information
Due to various equipment variants, the required preparatory and concluding work for removing and
installing the rear axle differential can differ depending on the vehicle. Specific campaign scopes have
been defined for this purpose.
Every vehicle is therefore assigned just one campaign scope.

suitable battery chargers.

Replacing rear axle differential
Information
Read and follow the preparatory and concluding work for removing and installing the rear axle differential
described in the model-specific Workshop Manual.
Also note that the required subsequent work for calibrating the assistance systems listed below can vary
depending on equipment variant:
•

ACC/Distance measuring sensor control unit (8T3, 8T8, 3V1, 3V2)

•

Front camera (QK8)

•

Infrared camera (9R1)
