This Technical Service Bulletin has also been released as a Rapid Response Transmittal
(RRT) 20-080, date of issue October 31, 2020. All applicable Sold and Un-Sold RRT VINs have
been loaded. To verify this RRT service action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or
perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library. All repairs are reimbursable within
the provisions of warranty. This RRT will expire 18 months after the date of issue.

Rear Wheels Rubbing On Splash Shields/Wheel Liners
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting for the wrong size tire and wheel assemblies and possibly replacing
all five wheel assemblies, Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) sensors, flashing the Electronic Power
Steering (EPS) and performing a Proxi alignment.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: North
America.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after November 04, 2019 (MDH 1104XX)
and built on or before May 18, 2020 (MDH 0518XX) equipped with a North Package
(Sales Code ADV) or an Upland North Edition (Sales Code AL3).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience the following condition:
• The rear 17 in. tires are rubbing on the wheel liners. This condition is due to an incorrect 17 in.
tire and wheel size, for the North Edition packages that require 18 in. tires and wheels.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. This RRT only applies
to vehicles on the RRT VIN list.
1. Inspect the wheel assemblies to ensure that the tires and wheels have not been modified, and
is currently equipped with factory 17 in. tires and wheels.
2. Is the vehicle currently equipped with factory 17 in. tires and wheels?
• YES >>> Proceed to Step 1 of the Repair Procedure.
• NO >>> This bulletin has been completed, use LOP (22-43-01-9E) to close the active RRT.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: All five 17 in. tire and wheel assemblies removed must have a hole drilled into each
tire and wheel and disposed of properly.
1. Remove and discard all four 17 in. tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to the detailed service
procedures available in DealerConnect> Service Library under: Service Info> 22 - Tires and
Wheels/Removal.
2. Assemble the replacement 225/60R18 tire and wheel assemblies with TPM sensors. Balance
each tire and wheel assembly. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerConnect> Service Library under: Service Info> 22 - Tires and Wheels/Tires/Installation.
3. Install all four 18 in. tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to the detailed service procedures
available in DealerConnect> Service Library under: Service Info> 22 - Tires and Wheels/
Installation.
4. Remove and discard the spare tire assembly from inside the vehicle.
5. Assemble the spare tire and wheel assembly with valve stem. Balance the spare tire and wheel
assembly. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerConnect> Service Library
under: Service Info> 22 - Tires and Wheels/Tires/Installation.
6. Install the replacement 225/65R17 102T spare tire assembly on the vehicle.
NOTE: The VIN must be updated before the EPS learn procedure can be performed.
7. Update VIN and new Sales Code info in DealerConnect to remove (Sales Codes TCF and
WBR).
8. Using the Scan Tool wiTECH 2, perform a Proxi Alignment (done for the new Sales Codes
TWS and WP5).

9. Install the two new 18 in. ‘Certification and Tire’ placard labels showing the correct information
(Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2) located on the driver door and B-Pillar, over the old labels.

10. Using wiTECH 2, reprogram the EPS module with the latest software.
11. Perform a EPS learn procedure.
12. Perform a TPM sensor verification test. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerConnect> Service Library under: Service Info> 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/Module,
Radio Frequency (RF Hub)/Standard Procedure.
13. Using wiTECH 2, perform a Proxi Alignment
14. Clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that may have been set in any modules after the
software flash or while performing this repair procedure.
