Warranty Extension: B-612P Catalina Blue Pearl or Bright Kinetic Blue Pearl Paint

Dear FIRSTNAME LASTNAME:
On some 2016–18 ILX models, the exterior paint around the front windshield and/or rear glass may peel off. To
ensure your confidence in your vehicle, American Honda is extending the warranty on the paint in these areas to
8 years from the original date of purchase.
This warranty extension provides coverage for the original owner and any subsequent owners. No action is required
on your part unless you experience a problem. This warranty extension will not apply to any vehicle that has ever
been declared a total loss or sold for salvage by a financial institution or insurer, or has a branded or similar title
under any state's law.
What should you do?
If your vehicle is painted B-612P Catalina Blue Pearl or Bright Kinetic Blue Pearl Paint, and the paint around the
front windshield and/or rear glass is peeling off, call any authorized Acura dealer and make an appointment to
have your vehicle inspected. If the peeling is related to the method by which the factory applied the paint, and
not damage from bird dropping, tree sap, etc., the roof and/or tailgate will be repainted for free. Please plan to
leave your vehicle at the dealer for at least a day to allow them flexibility in scheduling.

Please forward a copy of this notice to the lessee.
What to do if you feel this notice is in error
Our records show that you are the current owner or lessee of a 2016–1 ILX involved in this warranty extension. If
this is not the case, or the name/address information is not correct, please fill out and return the enclosed,
postage-paid Information Change Card. We will then update our records.
If you previously paid to have your vehicle painted because of peeling paint, you may be eligible for reimbursement,
even if you no longer own the vehicle. Refer to the attached reimbursement instructions for eligibility requirements
and the reimbursement procedure.

En algunos modelos ILX 2016–2018, la pintura exterior alrededor del parabrisas delantero y/o el vidrio trasero
puede desprenderse. Para asegurar su confianza en su vehículo, American Honda está extendiendo la garantía
en la pintura en estas áreas a 8 años de la fecha original de compra.
Esta extensión de garantía brinda cobertura al propietario original y a cualquier propietario subsiguiente. No se
requiere ninguna acción de su parte a menos que usted experimente algún problema. Esta extensión de garantía
no aplicará a cualquier vehículo que alguna vez se haya declarado pérdida total o que se haya vendido para su
recuperación por una institución financiera o aseguradora, o que tenga una marca o título similar conforme alguna
ley estatal.
¿Qué debe hacer?
Si su vehículo está pintado con B-612P “Catalina Blue Pearl” o “Bright Kinetic Blue Pearl” y la pintura alrededor
del parabrisas delantero y/o el vidrio trasero se está desprendiendo, llame a cualquier concesionario Acura
autorizado y programe una cita para que inspeccionen su vehículo. Si la pintura desprendida está relacionada
con el método utilizado por la fábrica cuando aplicó la pintura y no es daño causado por desperdicios de
pájaros o árboles, etc., el techo y/o la puerta trasera serán pintados de nuevo de forma gratuita. Por favor
haga planes para dejar su vehículo en el concesionario por lo menos un día, para permitir flexibilidad en la
programación de la cita.
Información para el arrendador
Por favor envié una copia de esta notificación al arrendatario.
Qué debe hacer si considera que esta notificación es errónea
Nuestros registros indican que usted es propietario o arrendatario de un vehículo ILX 2016-2018, el cual forma
parte de esta extensión de garantía. Si no es el caso, o si la información de nombre/dirección no está correcta,
por favor llene y devuelva la Tarjeta de Cambio de Información anexa pre-pagada. Con esto actualizaremos
nuestros registros.
Si usted anteriormente ha pagado por pintar su vehículo debido a que la pintura se estaba desprendiendo, usted
puede calificar para un rembolso, aunque ya no sea el propietario del vehículo. Consulte las instrucciones para
reembolso que se encuentra anexa para ver los requisitos de elegibilidad y el procedimiento de reembolso.

Eligibility Requirements
You may be eligible for reimbursement if you meet all the requirements:
You paid to have your vehicle’s roof and/or rear fender area painted because of peeling paint.
Repairs were made prior to the notice date; repairs made after the notice date must be administered by a
Acura dealer.
• You owned the vehicle at the time of repair. You are still eligible if you no longer own the vehicle.
• You provide a paid invoice.
Please complete this form and attach the items listed below. Failure to include all requested information will result
in delays and possible denial of your request.

1. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
2. Name and Address of the repair facility
3. Diagnosis and itemized cost of repair – parts and labor
4. Date the work was completed
5. Proof of Payment - copy of the canceled check, bank statement, or credit card receipt showing that you paid for
the repair. Cash payments must be documented on the invoice and a cash payment receipt must be provided.
