CONDENSATION FROM AIR CONDITIONING LEAKS INTO PASSENGER FOOTWELL: Condensation from the air conditioning systems evaporator drips, below the instrument panel, into the passenger's footwell. During assembly, the cover of the fresh air intake was not fully seated when the screws were tightened. This cover can then leak condensation out through the existing gap.

SITUATION
Condensation from the air conditioning systems evaporator drips, below the instrument panel, into
the passenger's footwell.
CAUSE
During assembly, the cover of the fresh air intake was not fully seated when the screws were tightened.
This cover can then leak condensation out through the existing gap
CORRECTION
Remove, correctly position and reinstall the fresh air intake cover
PROCEDURE
1.
The fresh air intake cover is located
next to the interior cabin microfilter.

Follow REP 64 31 010 on microfilter
replacement to access the fresh air
intake cover

Loosen both screws on the fresh air
intake cover
3.
Then press on the housing with your
fingers (see image) and retighten screw
1 and then screw 2 under pressure.
Observe the tightening sequence of
both screws!
4.
Then reassess the vehicle.
