Summary
ACCESSORIES DO NOT POWER ON: Customer is unable to power up or charge accessories through a plug adapter inserted in the front 12-volt power socket plug. Alternatively, it will only operate when constant downward hand pressure is maintained. A design change was intended to reduce short circuits and blown fuses. When the plug adapter is inserted, the center contact pin may not make proper contact with the center pin of the power socket plug.

SITUATION
Customer is unable to power up or charge accessories through a plug adapter inserted in the front 12-volt
power socket plug. Alternatively, it will only operate when constant downward hand pressure is maintained.
CAUSE
A design change was intended to reduce short circuits and blown fuses. When the plug adapter is inserted,
the center contact pin may not make proper contact with the center pin of the power socket plug.
CORRECTION
Only those customers that experiences this situation:
Replace the assembly screw at the front 12 V power socket.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fuse that powers the front 12 V
power socket. Fuse number and location can
be found in ISTA or AIR.
2. Loosen the Torx screw using a T10 bit
driver. DO NOT apply too much downward

pressure as this can cause the power
socket to come apart underneath.
3. Remove the Torx screw.
4. Insert the replacement screw and hand
tighten (McMaster-Carr, item number
91292A112).
5. Using Special Tool 0496778, torque the

screw to 1 (one) Nm.
6. Retest the customer’s accessory.
