INFORMATION OF REMOTE KEY REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR
KEYLESS ENTRY (WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL) SYSTEM

The following is to inform you of the above caption. You are kindly requested to inform dealers
and workshops under your control about the contents as needed.
RELEVANT MODELS: 195 and 195h with keyless entry (wireless remote control) system.

PROCEDURE:
Following is the procedure for registration of remote key recognition for the keyless entry
system.

1. Mode Selection
There are four registration modes (Addition, Rewrite, Confirmation, and Erasing).
 The addition mode is used when a new remote key is added. Four types of
recognition codes (remote key) can be registered in the system as needed. When
a registration operation is performed for more than four codes, the oldest
registered code will be deleted.
 The rewrite mode is used when the remote key is exchanged for a new one. All the
previously registered recognition codes will be erased in order to register new
recognition codes.
 The confirmation mode is used to confirm how many recognition codes have
already been registered in the system.
 The erasing mode is used when the remote key is lost. All the registered codes will
be erased, and the key less entry function will be disabled.
2. Procedure for recognition code registration
All of the following registration procedures must be performed in order, continuously and
within a specified time for each step.

The following conditions should be met before performing the procedure.







Starter switch OFF (Engine stopped)
No key in key cylinder.
All doors are closed.
Driver side door is unlocked.
Wireless system is not under operation.
The system is not in diagnosis mode, or registration mode.

Step 1: Open the driver side door (leave the door open).

Step 2: Lock then unlock driver side door
with inside lock button.
(This should be done within
10 seconds after step 1.)

Step 3: Insert the starter key into the key cylinder within 10 seconds after step 2.

Step 4: Turn the starter switch ON  OFF repeatedly in order to select the mode.
(This should be completed within 10 seconds after step 3.)

Step 5: Pull key out from key cylinder within 10 seconds after step 4.

Step 6: Repeat closing and opening driver side door at least 6 times within
30 seconds after step 5 (leave the door open after completing last step).

Hint: After step 6, “Lock-Unlock” operation of power door lock system or hazard light flashing
will be performed automatically to inform the mode has been selected.
If there is no response after step 6, mode selection has failed and the registration procedure
should be performed from beginning once again.

Step 7: Press both “Lock” and “Unlock” button on the
remote key at the same time, and then press
either “Lock” or “Unlock” button within 3
seconds.

(Step 7 should be completed within
10 seconds after the response of mode
selection.)

Hint: If the “Lock-Unlock” operation of power door lock system is performed automatically after
step 7, (locked  unlocked twice for addition mode, and three times for rewrite mode),
registration of recognition code is completed properly. If not, perform registration procedures
from the beginning.
