During a d20m8 acm software reprogramming, ran into an issue causing fault code to come active. Code
is spn521004/fmi 14 - automatic gear selection - incompatible or missing dataset. After completing all
the troubleshooting steps it is still active and cant seem to find a way around it. Laptop says dataset not
compatible and the dash display showing cpc not configured / shifting impaired. Can anyone point me in the
right direction here?

Did you save or upload CPC parameters to the server before gathering server data for your truck? If not, you
might want to try flashing the CPC and MCM to factory/OEM.

Yes, im pretty sure it was uploaded originally before attempting the first reprogramming. is there any literature
on the reprogramming that I could use to ensure that I get it back to factory / oem?

check out service bulletin 54-308 titled Chassis ECU Programming. applicable to PT ECU's as well IMO.

Did you open the parameters tab on the left part of the page before doing any programming? The parameters
are stored locally on your computer. Go back to the parameters and click the "Compare Parameters" tab.
Change first source CPC. Choose local history for second source and choose the file with the earliest time on
it. This can be imported into the CPC by hitting the import all button. Otherwise using the update with server
configuration under program device could be used. Would have to select OEM. The software is most likely
going to revert back to an older version though.

have you key off and let all modules power down and wait 5 min then key on ? also perform auto config

I had same issue. CSC found a file missing from the mainframe. After they repaired the software and I
reflashed CPC everything worked ok.

AS Charles states its a issue on CSC software side updating the cpc . FLASHING the CPC a second time
doesn't always work and you will HAVE TO CALL CSC... make sure you note if the customer had manual

mode/ performance mode enabled so when you call CSC in for them to reflash and update the server they can
enable those parameters for you... I have ran into this a few times

We have been seeing some cpc parameter issues after programming. I have found that if you "replace" with
oem all parameters reset properly. We also powerdown unit for 5 minutes for certain chassis codes that log
until key cycle- this info is NOT in bulletin.

That’s similar to when your running the ICUC autoconfig if you don’t power down it normally
won’t pass the first time , sounds like depending on trans type manual or auto there are all types
of issues going on with these

VRDU parameter for GVC ABA function, should be "No Kickdown Switch"
Have run into this numerous times.
