Update all unsold stock vehicles at PDI or when a
customer experiences a concern with any of the
following systems:

Introduction

McLaren Automotive has now released Platform 4.8 as a campaign for vehicles yet to be
sold, or when a customer experiences an issue in relation to the Advanced Driver
Interface (ADI), Engine Management System or Air Conditioning System.
If by applying the update the customer concern remains, or the issue is not related to
the enhancements below, please raise a Technical Request for further support.
The customer benefits of this update are:
Advanced Driver Interface (ADI) functional improvements:
Navigation System:

Full navigation announcement is now available

GPS antenna fault message no longer appears on the screen after a sleep cycle

Navigation announcement now no longer mutes the phone audio during a call


Traffic Announcement: Music is now muted during a traffic information
announcement

McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT):

Audio is played as part of the video playback in MTT application

Infotainment System no longer freezes following use of the MTT system
Audio system:

Bluetooth Play/Pause control in the instrument cluster is now available

Radio now plays consistent volume
Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC):

Fan setting now displays actual speed in central display
Parking Distance Control (PDC):


Removal of intermittent false error message

Electronic Parking Brake (EPB):

Tell-Tale message now turns off when pulling away from standstill
Phone operation:

Phone is no longer disconnected if a second paired phone receives an active
call



Contact name now appears during the call
ADI now shows the full contact's list

General:

ADI wake-up time improved and false “suspension degrade” warning message
resolved

Engine Control Module (ECM) calibration improvements for Electronic Stability
Control (ESC) to avoid warning message during stop start driving at high
altitudes (more than over 3,000 feet)
Heat Ventilation Air Conditioning general operational and performance
improvements

Software Update Procedure

Access the MDS Help section to download a copy of the platform release notes,
“Platform Release – 720S Coupe” which includes instructions how to update a vehicle to
Platform 4.8.
For information about accessing the release notes, refer to SIB 11 S 045 MDS Release
Notes Update.
