Subject: release of new instrument cluster software to resolve new key
matching failure issue

Dear Dealer / Service Centre,
Please note that a new version of the instrument cluster software for the aforementioned
model, which resolves the new key matching failure issue, is now available for downloading
with the P.A.D.S. diagnostic tool (which must be updated to the most recent version available)

The aforementioned operation is considered part of the normal scheduled maintenance
required for the vehicle, and must be performed at the same time as other scheduled
maintenance operations either during the pre-delivery procedure, for new vehicles, or at the
first available opportunity when the vehicle is brought to the service centre, in the case of
vehicles that have already been sold and are in use.

N.B.
The A-MP interface cable, P/N 021011Y (see photo 1), which is purchasable as an accessory
for the P.A.D.S., is required to update the instrument cluster software of the aforementioned
model.

IMPORTANT
DO NOT CONNECT the red power feed wire. This wire must be insulated only to prevent the
danger of short circuiting.

INSTRUCTIONS
Check that the battery is charged and working correctly, or connect to an external power
supply before starting the update described herein.

NOTE
Disable any screen savers and/or any automatic power off or sleep mode functions active on
the PC (e.g. power saving mode, automatic hard disk sleep mode).

With the ignition switch OFF, connect the accessory cable P/N 021011Y to the connector for
connecting to the A-MP ECU (situated in compartment under the saddle).

NOTE
Insulate the red power feed wire of the cable DO NOT CONNECT this wire.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

2. Connect the P.A.D.S. tool to the vehicle with the cable (do not use the Bluetooth
connection, as this will make the procedure significantly slower), select the file 60-UD83344.204 from the P.A.D.S. menu path *model*/instrument cluster/reprogramming
and select OK to confirm.

3. Do not turn the ignition switch to OFF or close the P.A.D.S. interface programme
during the software update procedure, as this may damage the instrument cluster.

4. Once the update procedure has been completed successfully, access the menus
relative to the instrument cluster, the ABS ECU and the engine management ECU and
cancel any errors generated and stored in these ECUs during the procedure.

It is not necessary to repeat the key matching procedure unless the original keys have been
lost and replaced and/or the ignition switch barrel has been replaced.

NOTE
If the instrument cluster software update procedure fails (e.g. instrument cluster shut down
and/or crashed), try the procedure again.
