All chassis built with Engine Model Year 2018 through 2020 PACCAR MX-11 (built through 12/24/2019) or MX-13 engines (built
through 01/17/2020), could have a mismatch between service interval required for the installed Open Crankcase Ventilation Filter
(OCV) filter and the service interval shown for the OCV filter in the operator's manual.

The purpose of the bulletin is to inform dealers about the potential mismatch between the service interval of the installed OCV filter
and the service interval published in the MX-11 and MX-13 operator's manuals. The operator's manuals only list the extended life
filter service interval. A standard life interval filter may have been installed during manufacturing or during a service event.
For vehicles with a Cummins brand OCV installed, do not replace the OCV due to P1407, replace the OCV filter instead.

Extended life service interval filters include a yellow decal to be placed on the OCV filter module to indicate an extended life
interval OCV filter has been installed.
Engines equipped with an extended life service interval filter during manufacturing have a yellow decal that has been painted
over with grey engine paint.

Procedure
The OCV Filter maintenance interval provided in the Engine Model Year 2018 through 2020 PACCAR MX-11 (Y53-1166-1H1 and
1J1 versions) and MX-13 Operator’s Manuals (Y53-1181-1L1 and 1M1) is incorrect for the factory installed OCV (Open Crankcase
Ventilation) filter. The factory installed filter was a standard life maintenance interval filter until Q1 of 2020. In Q1 of 2020, some
engines were built with standard life media filters and others with extended life media filters. The interval in the Operator’s Manual
only shows the maintenance interval of the extended life filter.
OCV Filter maintenance intervals in RMI have been updated to match the table below.
Engines with extended life media will have the decal shown in Figure 1 on the filter housing—decals on engines built with extended
life media may have been painted over with engine paint.

Dear Peterbilt Customer,
1) The Engine Model Year 2018 through early 2020 PACCAR MX-11/MX-13 Operator’s Manual you received with your vehicle listed the
Extended Life service interval OCV (Open Crankcase Ventilation) filter maintenance schedule, which was incorrect for your vehicle at the
time. Please refer to the updated OCV filter maintenance schedule included at the bottom of this letter. Your vehicle was built with the
Standard Life service interval filter. In mid-to-late first quarter of 2020, the Standard Life service interval filter was discontinued and
replaced with the Extended Life service interval filter. The new filter is fully compatible with the OCV installed in your vehicle(s) and will
match the service interval in your engine operator’s manual.
2) The fuel filter installation procedure described in your engine operator’s manual has been improved. Due to a design change of the fuel
filter module, using the procedure in your existing operator’s manual may result in damage to the lower fuel filter sealing ring. A pdf of the
installation procedure is included with this letter.

The Cummins brand OCV filter may be plugged sooner than the service interval provided in the Operator's manual.
P1407 may be set and diagnostics may incorrectly lead to an OCV replacement instead of a filter replacement.
Chassis Affected
All chassis built with Engine Model Year 2018 through 2020 PACCAR MX-11 built through 12/24/2019 or MX-13 engines built through 01/17/2020.
In addition, all chassis with PACCAR MX-13 engines built prior to Engine Model Year 2018 that were built with a Hengst brand OCV and has been
retrofitted to the Cummins brand OCV.

Le manuel de l’opérateur, pour les moteurs de modèles MX-11/MX-13 de PACCAR des années 2018 jusqu’au début de 2020,
que vous avez reçu avec votre véhicule indiquait le calendrier d’intervalle de service d’entretien du filtre OCV (ouverture de
ventilation du carter) à durée de vie prolongée, ce qui était inapproprié pour votre véhicule à ce moment-là. Veuillez vous référer au
calendrier mis à jour pour l’entretien du filtre OCV apparaissant au bas de la présente. Votre véhicule a été construit nécessitant
l’intervalle d’entretien du filtre à durée de vie standard. Depuis la moitié et jusqu’à la fin du premier trimestre de l’année 2020,
l’intervalle d’entretien du filtre à durée de vie standard a été discontinué et remplacé par l’intervalle d’entretien du filtre à durée de

l’intervalle de service de votre manuel de l’opérateur relatif au moteur.

La procédure d’installation du filtre à carburant décrite dans votre manuel de l’opérateur relatif au moteur a été améliorée.
Suite à un changement de design du module du filtre à carburant, l’utilisation de la procédure décrite dans votre manuel de l’opérateur
existant pourrait occasionner des dommages au joint d’étanchéité inférieur du filtre à carburant. Un PDF de la procédure d’installation
est inclus à la présente.
