2019 M2
Vin# JY7857
Have checked power at switch and at door latch assy and all is ok, after opening and closing door lock and lock
assy will both stop working, let it sit for 20-30 seconds and they will work for a bit longer, installed a new switch
and is still having an issue, load tested wiring and all checks good

Is there a door switch on the door with the one on the dash? Have you inspected the PDM on the fender?
The terminals end up getting spread and cause them to burn. Haven’t seen it on door locks yet. What type of
application is this unit?

Only switch is on dash. PDM is good no signs of any damages and terminals are good. Unit is a fire support
vehicle air and light unit, no fire pump.

Long time no see, Mr. Horabik!
I vote for live power and ground measurements during operational tests... whatever is dropping out has to rear
it's ugly head sometime that way. Looking in module 787 was a little help.

M2 door lock/unlock function...
Try inspecting the 76 pin on the firewall for a spread pin. If both motors are acting up, it sounds like a power
or ground issue. Looking at the schematic, the ground goes into a splice pack in the dash. Remove the splice
pack connector
and check for damage there.

Also check for pushed back pins. Make sure you are looking at the correct pin since there are floating pins.

I have also checked amperage on the circuits and when unit is working good, it is pulling about 3.2A, and when
system is acting up you can see that it initially pulls 3.2A and then drops out quickly to 0A within 2 secs or so

I like checking the amperage. Sometimes I get some good intel by using an LED test light on the circuit,
given it's understood limitations. It would let you know if it was loss of power OR ground, possibly an opening
component. Then, a supplemental temporary power or ground can be used to verify that would be the fix.
My favorite one is made by MAC. I like the way it's made and how it works. It will indicate a green LED for
ground, a red one for power.

I have already inspected the 76-pin bulkhead connector and all is good there, all the pins that i have inspected
thus far have been good no pushed back pins yet, the only connector i have not gotten to is the splice pack for
gnd in dash.

Might try isolating to the left or right. I'm thinking by disconnecting between dash and door harnesses, located
behind the left and right a-pillar lower panels. Un-connect one side and see if you can get the other side to
malfunction then switch sides.
