We have a customer that has had several New Cascadias complaining the blower motor will quit
working for a few hours and come back on. We have never been able to duplicate it in the shop.
Finally got a chance to look at one while it was messed up. FCU was not communicating. Found
we were missing GND-C at the FCU. Ended up finding a bad splice in the main dash harness. The
FCU GND-C comes straight off a splice of a main GND-C instead of the GND-C splice pack in dash.

Cut splice open and found the wire broke. Not sure yet if this is the issue all of his trucks are having.

No it wasn't crushed. I'm still having complaints with team drivers on the New Cascadias where the bunk hvac
will override the cab hvac while driving down the road. Still unable to duplicate the complaint.

Check out the blower power an ground 3 pin connector
. Have seen 2 burnt up real bad. Must have been
spread from factory and burnt up. Load tested and had good voltage drop.

Its got a thick black and thick light blue wires going to it, about 24'' left of the actual blower.

Been seeing the terminals melt on the big three pin connector as well mostly in the dash but did have one in
the LH kick panel for the sleeper blower. I have been debating it is spread terminals or plugged recric filters
causing a draw.

Plugged air filter will actually cause less draw. Takes less power to move less air. Kind of a weird
concept to grasp but it’s true. If you take a vacuum cleaner and plug the hose it will draw less
current. The motor will get hot because it requires air flow to cool it. So plugged filter could
cause the actual blower terminals to melt. Not the jumper harness terminals though.

yup, good point, a plugged filter causes a vacuum which means less molecular density in the air to cause
resistance against the blower fins

Yes it fixed this truck but I have not found this issue on any other truck

Customer called several times on the road, but as soon get to shop - woks well.
Know I know were to start. Cause intermittent.

I HAD ONE WITH SAME ISSUE, BUT FOUND BLOWER MOTOR POWER CONNECTOR PINS MELTED.
REPAIRED THE CONNECTOR AND RECTIFIED THE ISSUE.
