**(This Service Bulletin is also being released as Rapid Response Transmittal (RRT) 20-045,
dated August 18, 2020. All applicable Un-Sold RRT VINs have been loaded. To verify this RRT
service action is applicable to the Un-Sold vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library.**
SUBJECT:
Body Control Module (BCM) Reconfigure for Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves reconfiguring the BCM.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: North
America.
NOTE:
• This bulletin applies to GA vehicles built on or before December 31, 2019 (MDH 1231XX).
• This bulletin applies to GU vehicles built on or before December 20, 2019 (MDH 1220XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further
investigation the technician may find that one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTCs) have been set:
• B1006-49 - Camera - Internal Electronic Failure.
• C141C-86 - Video Camera Private Can Communication Failure - Signal Invalid.
• C1999-86 - Data set Failure-Signal Invalid.

In addition, the customer may notice the following:
• The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) displays 9Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
Limited Functionality Front Camera Service Required9 (Fig. 1) .

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If any
DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the one listed above is present, record the issues on the
repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
**If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on
the VIN list exhibits the symptom/condition or DTC, perform the repair.**
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using the scan tool (wiTECH 2), perform a 9Restore Vehicle Configuration9.
2. Perform a 9Proxi Configuration Alignment9.
3. DTCs will still be active. Cycle the ignition off, the back on and the codes should change from
“Active” to “Stored”.
4. Clear all DTCs that may have been set.
5. Remove the Micro Pod from the vehicle.
6. Cycle the ignition off, exit the vehicle, lock the doors and let the vehicle sleep for 10-15 minutes
(keep the FOBIKs away from the vehicle to ensure them from waking up the bus).
7. Place the ignition in the “On” position and connect the (wiTECH 2). Verify the codes have not
returned. If codes have returned then perform normal diagnosis.

FAILURE CODE:
**The dealer must choose which failure code to use depending on if this is a Rapid
Response Transmittal (RRT) or Service Bulletin.
• The “RF” failure code is required for essential module flash/reprogramming and can only be
used after confirmation that the VIN is included on the RRT.
• The failure code “RF” (Required Flash) can no longer be used on Service Bulletin flashes. The
“RF” failure code must be used on an RRT.
• If the customer’s concern matches the SYMPTOM/CONDITION identified in the Service
Bulletin, failure code CC is to be used. When utilizing this failure code, the 3C’s must be
supplied.**
