Fuse Location and Labeling for the MPC2 and Lane Guidance
Systems
If equipped with Detroit Assurance 5.0, New Cascadia vehicles built from September 9, 2019 through August
23, 2020, come equipped with a multi-purpose camera 2 (MPC2) wired into an LVD power supply, fuse 14
(F14). This created an active fault code when house loads were disconnected.
In addition, the vehicle power distribution module (VPDM) inside cover illustration in these vehicles had the
following generic description for fuse 14: F14-POWER FEED OUTPUT 5, BAT.1 It might also be labeled: F14EXP FUSE 7/LANE DEP/GUIDANCE, BAT.2
Explanation of the active fault code and instructions for moving the MPC2 power supply to fuse 35 (F35) are
contained in Service Bulletin 54-336. That work includes installing a new VPDM cover. If this work has been
done on the vehicle, this bulletin does not apply.
In addition, fuse 63 (F63) is not labeled as optional on this version of the VPDM inside cover illustration. Fuse
63 is used for lane guidance systems other than Detroit Assurance 5.0. These descriptions have been causing
confusion when troubleshooting Detroit Assurance 5.0 Lane Detection Warning fault codes.
To clarify fuse uses and locations related to collision mitigation systems, module 73F, see Table 1 and Table 2.

2 The phrase "EXP FUSE 7" as part of the name for F14 might be confusing. Technicians are advised to ignore this part of the name.
