SITUATION
The Service Engine Soon (MIL) light is on with the following differential pressure sensor fault stored:
195002 - Differential pressure sensor, tank vent valve, electrical: Short circuit to ground

CAUSE
During engine operation, vibration and movement of the sensor can damage the pin contacts of the harness
connector, or cause a break in the wiring.

CORRECTION
Perform diagnosis with the latest version of ISTA. A revised test plan for this DME fault was made available
with ISTA 3.48, released in February 2015.
Install a differential pressure sensor repair harness, which is spliced in at the DME connector.
It now includes a harness clip to secure it to the ventilation pipe, to prevent any future damage.

N20 AND N26 DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT 195002
STORED IN DME
N20 AND N26 DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR HARNESS REPAIR
Remove the engine acoustic cover to access
the DME harness connectors.

The repair harness will be spliced into the
existing differential pressure sensor wiring on
DME connector A46*2B.
For clear access to do the repair, disconnect
the other DME connectors and position them
out of the way

Remove the wire tie and electrical tape from
the existing three-wire harness at the DME
connector.
Cut off the existing three-wire harness
approximately 40 mm from the connector
housing. Be careful to leave enough length for
the splice and heat-shrink tubing.

Splice the new harness to the existing wiring in
connector A46*2B, using the supplied splice
crimp connectors and heat-shrink tubing.
Apply electrical tape over the spliced section.
Secure it back to the connector housing with a
small wire tie.
Note:
The heat-shrink supplied in the kit can be
replaced by heat-shrink with a smaller
diameter.

The replacement harness is then secured to
the plastic ventilation pipe with the clip.

Reconnect the DME harnesses and reinstall
the engine acoustic cover.
