Issue:
Certain model year 2019.5 Chateau, Four Winds, and Quantum 31’ motorhomes may experience
problems with the gas burner igniting on the cooktop. This may be due to the cooktop being a secondgeneration TI-1+2B combination gas/induction cooktop which requires a 12-volt power supply wire
from the distribution panel. This 12-volt power supply wire may be missing.

Inspection Instructions:
If cooktop ignites as designed, no further action is needed.
If cooktop does not ignite as designed, continue to repair instructions below.
Repair Instructions:
1. Remove cooktop from the counter.
2. Look on the back side of the cooktop for the 12V power supply input. This input looks
like a 12V charger hookup.

empty, you will need to add plug
adapter and hookup to 12V + and -

3. Locate the cooktop’s wiring harness (below the cooktop) to connect the Dehco 12V DC
power supply wirea. On 31E, 31WS, 31LF, and PD31 units, there will be a two wire breakout in the
main wire harness that contains an 18 gauge (Positive) Orange wire and 18 gauge
(Negative) White wire taped together below the cooktop. Separate these wires.
i. On 31Y units, there is not a separate breakout in the main harness. Locate
the 14 gauge Orange and White wires in the main harness that are
connected to the back of the refer. Splice into these two wires with a 14
gauge orange wire and a 14 gauge white wire and run the new wires to the
cooktop.
b. Connect the Black wire on Dehco connector to the 18 gauge White.
c. Connect the Red wire on the Dehco connector to the 18 gauge Orange.
4. Plug in the Dehco 12V DC power supply wire to the power input on the back side of the
cooktop.
5. Reinstall cooktop on counter.
